German Tourist drugged, assaulted and robbed by two women picked up from the street.

 

Pattaya, December 12 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : Thousand of Tourists who come to Pattaya will often leave their hotel room alone and return with at least one guest. Doing this can potentially expose you to all sorts of dangers which are highlighted in this case from the Midtown Inn Hotel located on the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya. Mr. Detlef Brodhage aged 67 from Germany was returning back to his hotel on Friday Afternoon when he was approached by two women who suggested they accompany him back to his hotel room for a massage. Mr. Brodhage duly accepted the offer and upon arrival, the two women offered Mr. Brodhage a drink which he consumed. He soon became light headed and realized he had been drugged. In his attempt to escape the room and summon assistance the two women attacked him, rendering him unconscious. When he awoke he realized his room had been ransacked. At this point the Police were called and it was determined that a computer notebook, a digital camera, 2,000 Euro’s and some Thai currency had been taken. Descriptions of the two assailants was given to Police who are investigating. For those of you who wish to take guests back to your Hotel we suggest you insist your guests leave a copy of their Thai ID Cards with reception, so if there is a problem, there is more of a chance for them to be caught.

Just need to follow the rules:

1) Lock your money in the safe

2) Don't accept drinks from strangers

What is the old expression, "A fool and his money are soon parted" I never carry more than $200 cash at any time if need more can take out on atm but what for? If I am shopping i use a credit card at mall or if small shop use the cash I have on me or can get more at atm. Who is stupid enough to carry over $2,000 cash on himself or in his room? I posted a while ago about how I made my girl give ID to the front desk, but I was still drugged and had bahts, camera and phone stolen. The front desk people just gave the girl her ID back when she left. They kept no record of her name. Be sure to find out what your particular hotel's policy is on girl's ID cards. I recommend bringing the clerk some good food to demonstrate how much you appreciate his service. Then let him know you would like to have a phone call before he gives the girl's ID back.

You guys are definitely posting good advice, but I still feel sorry for the guy (if the story is true).

Although I know and follow all the rules, I still sometimes get stupid and fuck up at times. In these situations, I have had good luck in the past in not running into some bad people. Given the wrong circumstances- too much to drink, horny, two friendly beautiful girls, I can see how it can happen.

 

I think that mongering is dangerous business (part of what makes it exciting). You can definitely take steps to lessen the risk, but if you do it long enough, you may find yourself fucked over at least once.

 

At least they didn't kill the guy so he can consider himself lucky.

Stayed at the Buisness Inn soi 11 Shukhumvit BBK last year.

Whenever a lady left reception would ring me to make sure everything was ok before handing back her id.

This was an unsolicited sevice,indeed was taken by suprise by the first call.

While not garanteeing complete safty from such incidents , thought it was a nice touch,one that maybe should be taken up by other establishments.

 

Can`t see the German gentleman getting much joy from his insurance co.

I never carried more than 500 baht when I was walking alone in Thailand. Always used the safe either in room or at front desk, depending on hotel.

 

Also, unless he snuck into the hotel, I am surprised they didn't ask for Id's at desk. Of course I am not familiar with this hotel and maybe it is common.

 

Maybe he had more money than sense, maybe 2000 euros is not a big deal for him, but it is true, he did just about everything wrong you could think of, and we all know those girls weren't just there to give him a massage, he had to be thinking with the wrong head. I am 66, hope I don't get stupid all of a sudden when I hit 67.

That's a good one. "Two Thai ladies, each 4'10" tall, brown eyes, black hair, both spoke English with an accent."

BTW, this guy is lucky to be alive. Maybe he wasn't killed because the thieves did so well that they just wanted to leave, and quickly. If his valuables were in the safe, he may have been injured further in their attempt to gain the combination. Anyway, the obvious best course of action is to secure your valuables and take care with casual visitors. Just sayin', maybe this guy is still alive because of "dumb luck."

This happened recently to an experienced guy who lives here (ex copper) from the UK again two girls the drug was past to him from there mouths he is lucky to be alive he met both girls on the beach

There is the trama the next day and weeks after it is a vile crime to carried out on tourists and expats here this has ended in death on some occassions who know how many... should not be taken lightly I dont think thai police borther to deal with this premeditated assault

I do remember two friends having two rooms in a Pattaya hotel.

They both brought their prize to their rooms.

At 9 am one friend did not see the other friend at their usual breakfast (they always had breakfast together).

He went to bang on his friends door because knocking did not help.
