Hello Boys:

Planning my next trip (only things that helps the pain) and am looking around for a modest price hotel.

I see Secrets on Walking Street has a place (the grand Hotel where a "superior" room goes for 995 bht: http://www.secretspa...perior_room.php

Anyone stayed there? Too close to the action? Too loud? Great value/location, etc.?

Any feedback from folks that have stayed there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

LOTS of reviews on here, but I have to disagree with the above...I LOVE SECRETS for the first 2-3 nights in Pattaya...no more than that for sure, but its a great place to be at ground zero (walking street) for a decent price with clean, comfortable room...nothing special, but it gets the job done!

The first couple of nights is when I want to get 2-3 short times per night...but after that I slow down a bit and then I move over to the Pattaya Bay Resort www.pattayabayresort.com and thats where I hang the rest of my trip.

Cheers, Alex

I used to stay there all the time during the peak season. However the last time I stayed there I was not able to sleep comfortably. The music from the bar kept me up most of the time (and I was on the second floor!). On New Years Eve I went to bed around 2:00 am but still could not sleep. The bar did not close and some of the staff had their own party outside.

This year I decided to stay somewhere else. Aside from the noise and lack of elevators, the hotel is well maintained, the rooms are kept clean and the lines and towels are of a higher quality than most other hotels I have stayed in.

In terms of location I find that the hotels in Soi 13 are the most convenient. Soi 13 is very central and one is able to sleep very comfortably due to the lack of bars in that Soi.

Hope this helps.

Great location

Good price

Clean comfortable rooms

Good but expensive food

Good but expensive bar

No lift

No pool

Good staff & management

Fucking noisey!!!!!!!

The location is good if you stay mainly walking street area for hunting pussy. Good for fucking multiple girlos each night then going back out in between. BUT thats it - as for the rooms, the airconditioning units are from the 1980s, very badly outdated and very weak. I would avoid staying here as there is also no elevator. If u do stay there, break the ring from the plastic fob-card and leave it in the power switch in the room 24/7 even when u go out so the room remains cool, otherwise it takes fucking forever to cool the room down. Very limited number of channels on the television and no dvd player are another big letdown. Far better places for the money IMHO.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction - "it was just the internet.." is not an excuse.

Even if you stay on the 3rd floor, that isn't that bad of a walk up the stairs, unless you're fat and out of shape.

I stayed on the 3rd floor all of the 12 days that I was there and had no problem going up the stairs.

Several of the other bars on Walking Street have the same or even higher bar prices.

Noisy? Maybe if you're staying on the floor above the bar. The outside noise at night really isn't all that bad.

No pool; where can you get a room as clean as theirs for <1000 baht that has a pool?

I've stayed at Secrets a couple times and would stay more often except many of my trips are planned on short notice so they are full.

Service, location, cleanliness all good. Steep steps can be a little unnerving if pissed. I found the best thing was to take a companion along to help me get up the steps. Mai pen rai!!

I agree however those other bars have semi or nude dancers on display, and not overdressed/overpriced 1000 bht B/F "Coyotes"! Also BTW there are MANY W/S bars offering far cheaper drinks, particulary during "Happy Hours" but by no means confined to those times only, plus CHEAPER B/Fs!

I stayed there for 5 nights. Room was new & clean; I never had any issues with noise; good value.

Ii is a good hotel to start your holiday at!

Bad airconditioning?

I stayed there in Aug '09. I was in room 301 for part of the time and in room 306 the rest of the time; the rooms had no problem cooling down with the air conditioning units that were in those two rooms.

no dvds for watching porn

room service is delivered with the service person breathing heavily on your meal after walking up a few flights of stairs.

overall i was happy with the rooms and service.

i thought id stay there again, but have lowered my standards and stay in cheaper rooms now.

Stayed there for the last week of my recent trip. Stayed on second floor, no bothersome noise from downstairs but lots of construction noise from right next door during the day.

Nice clean room, terrific staff. Can't beat the location for Walking St action and convenient for bringing home multiple partners. I brought in three different girls one night over the span of 6 hrs and the cutie at the front desk just smiled and winked.

I will definitely stay there again.

Only complaint is the shower only had cold water!!!

I stayed for a week in Nov at Secrets. Had read about the noise issues so requested a room on the 3rd floor , you could still hear the bar but no real problems as I wasnt asleep before 4am anyway ;)

No elevator and no pool are the only downsides , even the 3rd floor isnt a difficult journey really.

Superb security and staff , always felt very safe here.

Yes the food is a little expensive but its handy.

Its 30 seconds away from Walking Street and has 5-6 great Go-Go's just round the corner.

They do 60 baht bottles of Chang - aircon ,coyote's dancing (albeit with too many clothes) and friendly staff for 60baht drinks not bad imo.

If your a newbie like me then use it wisely as a secure base. Sup the 60 baht Changs take in the surroundings during the quiet/rest periods of the day then hit the BB's/Go-Go's later in the evening.

yep got me convinced, going to spend a couple of days here in april, be handy for walking street mongering, and 60 baht for chang seems good, especially as there is chicks to gawp at to..

I work hard to support those on benefits! :Banghead2:

Hi

I stayed at Secrets for 15 days in June 2009. Room was great, clean, window lets you look at next building. No scenery. No matter to me I only slept and played there. No elevator. That I missed but there are plenty of young friendly ladies in the bar to help you up stairs if you need very user friendly ( Ha, Ha) I will look for hotel with elevator on next trip

Jerry

P. S. Da, and Gun are beauties to behold, others as well just don't rmember all the names. Great friendly bunch
