Hi, Thanks

Sounds OK for me then!!! Stayed at Eastiny Plaza on Soi 8 in October and that was good. Gonna split my time between Eastiny Plaza and Baron Beach when I go in January. Any particular rooms better than others? Was gonna ask for an upper floor room overlooking the pool.

Cheers,

Stayed there last July for about 2 weeks, its in a pretty good location. Plenty of bars and girls not to mention its next to the New Central Festival shopping center so when you need some real food its nice. The rooms are OK and the bathrooms are a little outdated. The breakfast buffet sucks ass, but you have to wake up early for that. To be honest, I stayed in nicer places for less, but the location is hard to beat.

Read on another forum they are now charging for joiners

True they are charging joiners... 300bht and wi-fi is also being charged. I was there last june and both were free. Location is pretty much between Soi 6 and Walking St so it is centrally located IMO. Breakfast is ok, rooms are cleaned frequnetly and if you go out of the front door take an immediate right turn and keep walking ahead a few feet bam!!! Soi 8.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in September. There was no joiner at the time and no problems with bringing back multiple guests apart from a bit of attitude from reception. Rooms are decent for the money, bathrooms could use a makeover. Had some issues with cleaning but was rectified after giving the maid a few tips.

My main issue with the place was the other clientele. The majority were groups of guys who seem to stay at least 3-4 to a room, prefer to drink in their room rather than going out and would hang around the pool in large groups without any female companionship while continually talking very loudly. I'd generally have a girl or two with me by the pool and they always said they felt uncomfortable around them. I never had any problems but it did make it almost impossible to enjoy the pool and adjoining areas with any peace and quiet.

Wouldn't go back.

Had a funny story there actually. One afternoon I was laying by the pool half asleep with last night's LT. Trying to sleep off a nasty hang over. Most of these other guests shared a common inability to swim and one of them decided to jump into the deep end of the pool. Well he panicked and was soon splashing and flailing around like a drowning cat. This was enough to wake me up properly and I eventually realized he needed a hand as his friends who were watching on didn't seem to be doing much. I jumped into the water and dragged him the two meters to the edge. He was rattled but polite and thankful.

Next morning I was in the room with the latest LT, who didn't speak much English, when the maid knocked on the door ready to clean. Well we were about to head out for breakfast so I invited her in. She was smiling and said something about me being "superhero". I knew she was referring to the "rescue" (honestly any 9 year old kid in Oz could have saved this guy) the day before. I laughed and left with my girl. Well we went down to the restauaraunt and my girl, who had given me a stellar GFE performance all night and morning, was acting all cold all of a sudden. Not hungry, and generally giving off a bad attitude. I asked her what was going on and she replied "you boom boom lady too much". I replied that "I butterfly on holidays and take ladies from many different bars. I tell you already?" She then asked "You tell me but why you have boom boom maid. You man no good". Well I pretty much sprayed my OJ across the table in laughter. She thought the maid was referring to my sexual prowess when she called me "superhero". Got to love those thai girls :Drunk_Party:
