Have heard it has a cockroach problem - can anyone confirm?

 

900 high season with wifi and pool.

i stayed here in april 2008 and never saw 1 cockroach i thought it was a great hotel and always has a lot of customers whatever the season.

I've stayed at Opey a few times, and i've seen my share of bugs there. They mainly stayed in the bathroom though, but crawled all over and into my

toiletry bag (and on the toothbrush).

If the sight of a few bugs make you wanna change hotel, then don't book at Opey. I chased bugs around with the shower every day:)

Also, the shower is right by the toilet. So, gotta take your pants off before taking a dump since the floor is constantly wet.

This all applies to the standard rooms, i don't know about the superior (although iirc i think they are carpeted. Nasty carpets are

not my idea of superior).

On the plus side, the rooms are big and the food in the restaurant is decent.

Wifi is very sporadic, pool is no more than ok (and usually has kids running around being noisy). When i was there last there was also

construction noise from next door. Don't know if they're finished now, this was about 6 months ago.

For that price i'd look elsewhere unless you're desperate.

wow 900 thay have ramped that, I have stayed there a few times always been good

spoke to a couple who stayed there in november,left after 2 nights roaches freaked the woman out.

I just had friends stay a few doors up at JP Court, it also has a pool, but no cockroaches.

They paid 750 per night.

Im across the road from JP at Valentines Guest House, similar prices but no pool.

I have stayed at Opey a couple of times , it is very popular, getting a bit worn nowadays,construction going on next door to J+P Court which is two doors up the street and behind there is a big build going on.

 

saying that, there cannot be many places where there is not some sort of construction noise in Pattaya.

 

You can find better for 900b IMO.

Thanks guys - I want a pool and wifi near beach road. I got in at Pattaya Bay Resort but it is 1500. Doing my last rounds before deciding to keep it or cancel it (I will give ample notice, don't worry)
