Dental Whitening

OK its not all about the sex here boys, got to look good at home too eh?

Decided to try dental whitening because mine were getting dingy. Did not think it would be good for me because I have a crown right up front where I lost one in a bicycle accident.

Went to Doctor Smile at 111/72 Moo 10 South Pattaya Rd (there are cheaper clinics). For 7,200 baht ($225) had my teeth cleaned and whitened. At home that would have been $700 or $800 US with no dental coverage on the whitening.

Unbelievable how well they did considering the crown.

Yes, I know you could send all of that money on beer and bj's.....

thanks a big difference! Any idea about how long they will stay white if drink coffee? And how about all those pastes and UV lights and crap - do they work? Or is the only REAL way to have it done professionally? Just curious and agree that there ARE other benefits to visiting Thailand. BTW, I've heard you can save a bundle on crowns!

This version of me will not stay the same, tomorrow I will be different.

you can get the Zoom whitening done in US/Canada for 200 - 300 USD. I dont really see it as being cheap in LOS

Wow, that's a difference! IMHO it seems like it was worth the money. Thank you for giving me the idea.

What kind of whitening was it? Laser or something else?

Fist time for me so I do not know how long the laser treatment will last. The clinician said if I wanted them even whiter to follow up with a gel at home. I think that is going to a maintenance thing. Your teeth do hurt a bit for about a day but well worth it.

Anymore information about the laser they used? Or is there just the same standard of laser used everywhere.

Seems like one hell of a laser to do that. Very good bargain considering the improvement of color.

Sorry, you would have to call the clinic to find out.

I had the whole cleaning and whiting treatment done here in the States and it cost $850.00

I had it done in Pattaya and it cost under a $100.00 and they did a MUCH better job.

So I had it done again on my last trip at the same place.

Just today I went to my dentist here as I lost a filling eating one my sisters Pecan pie at Thanksgiving he tells me I need a root canal and a crown after. Quoted me $1800.00 I had a temporary filling put in $62.00 and will have the work done for 15 cents on the dollar in Pattaya when I get there. It will most likely be better work too.

This is just another reason to return.

I talked to one of my three sisters about going with me as her Dentist here told her $10,000.00 to start on the work she wants done I said take that money go to Thailand with me we will party our asses off for a month get your teeth done and still have thousands left over. I am pretty sure she is going to go for it after I showed her a photo I took of my Pattaya Dentist's Diploma from Loma Linda University The most prestigious dental school in the United States.

Hi Ducar, could you provide us with info on your dentist in pattaya?

Nice result, I have a question about the crown.

I understand that whitening cannot affect the colour of a crown, only the natural teeth. I've got a couple of crowns that were colour matched to my natural teeth when they were nowhere as white as yours are post-treatment. One of the things that has prevented me jumping in is the worry I will end up with a bunch of brilliant white naturals, let down by some darker, un-altered crowns.

What was your experience? Looking at before - after it looks like your crowns came up just the same as your naturals.

Cheers

Geeman:

The technician ran the laser over my teeth in iterations so he could handle the same situation form me. If you look reeeeeeal close you can see some difference in color between my fillings, natural teeth and crown. But someone would have to stand there with a flashlight to see it. Its a no brainer. I am smiling a lot more since I canme back (for a lot of reasons)....don;t think twice about it.

Really...it´s your friend.

I had been thinking of doing ths myself, and for about 165 euros or so, this is an incredible deal. as long as my teeth stay white and in my head...

Wow, now I also have to do some teeth whitening in Pattaya.

Does someone know how long time in advance I have to book for a appointment? or is it just "drop in" service?

I have never had to worry about getting in the next day.

One time I went in at 1:00 and had an app for 3:00 on the same day.

Went with my buddy to the denist (different one) when he broke a bridge they fixed it for him on the spot.

Great. Then I don't think it can be any better :Circle_Sharks:

I just have to find a decent clinique to do the whitelin job.

Did not hurt during the laser.

Took about 1 1/2 hours with a cleaning.

Teeth hurt a bit for two days.

You have to avoid coffee and such for two days.

be prepared to use whitening gel at home to maintain.
