Mercure Hotel Pattaya Review

I stayed here for two nights paying a daily rate equivalent to 2200B excluding breakfast. In my opinion, for this rate you are not getting good value and there are better options available but as I got to stay here free I didn't care too much for the rate.

 

We arrived at 1300 and was told that the rooms are occupied or being cleaned and that I'd need to come back in an hour. Came back after some food, checked in and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room.

- Rooms are of a good size, nicely decorated and comfortable

- Location next to Pattaya Bay Resort (2 min walk to 2nd Road through Avenue or complimentary tuktuk service)

- Good quality toileteries

- Bathrobes and slippers

- Room safe, fridge (includes 2 bottles of complimentary water), kettle with a selection of teas/coffee

- Large pool with many loungers in and out of the pool

- Nice little balcony with deck chairs and table

- Complimentary tuktuk service on demand to 2nd Road and pickup service from 2nd Road back to the hotel (I think it's a 24 hour service)

- Better options available for the price (2200B excluding breakfast)

- Expensive minibar

- WIFI is expensive (180B hour, 800B for 5 hours although one day is 400B)

- Mixed use (some families, farang couples of various ages, mongers)

 

One thing to note about the pool is that it is clearly made for farangs and not small Thai girls as other than the kid splash pool, it's 1.8 metres everywhere.

Not sure as I checked in with a girl. I did, however, see guys with their teraks coming in and out but not sure if they paid a joiner or not

No guest fees as long as you make the reservation for 2 people

Great location

 

Only downside is pricey internet rates, but is a good, fast connection.
