EVA air is fine. I have used them for a couple of trips. Food is airline food, but ok. Staff is friendly and usually pretty cute. EVA has some good prices right now. I just booked for Jan 17th roundtrip LAX to BKK for $798.00 all-in. That's the best I could find and I've been checking websites for a couple of months.

Cheers

Flown EVA a handful of times: They're consistent - you may not necessarily remember the high points of the flight, but you shouldn't have any issues that will cause you swear them off for the rest of your life, either. Considering the state of air travel these days (at least here in the States), a rather benign, on-time flight without drama might just be the gold standard...

EVA is the best direct airline flying out of London Heathrow at the moment, Ive flown with them several times and never had any problems with them.

....... Signed,

Anaconda Mavrick, Chief Executive of Eva Air.... LOL!!!

Yet ANOTHER endorsement for Eva from the Mavmeister - you must be getting free flights from them by now bro! Seriously, I've heard good things about them too from a couple of mates. All of my previous trips to LOS were on Thai Airlines. I'll know better next time..........

BTW - good to see you back online mate.

EVA is my first choice of airlines. Economy Deluxe seating is the best value out there. Service is consistently good.

I like their website. It is pretty good at finding the lowest fare if you are flexible on dates.

Interesting story. I was at the airport and remembered that I forgot to send my mortgage payment before leaving the house. I need a stamp but everything was closed (it was after midnight). I went to the EVA check-in desk and asked the agent if she happened to have a stamp. She didn't, but she went around and checked with everyone else without any luck. I was surprised at the effort she was making. Any bets that United or Northwest would do the same? She was sincerely sorry that she couldn't assist me.

So I am in Taiwan and start boarding for BKK. When I insert my boarding pass into the reader, a beep goes off and the agent tells me to wait. Uh oh. This can't be good. She hands me off to the desk agent. This agent asks me if I would like to be upgraded (from Economy to Deluxe) . Uh, YES! I don't look a gift horse in the mouth and don't ask for a reason.

As I sat on the plane, the only reason I could come up with is that the US agent put something on my record because she couldn't help me with the stamp problem. This was my first trip with EVA, so I didn't have any status with their frequent flyer program. Of course it could be that I am a hansum man LOL.

Anyway, even without the upgrade incident, I would highly recommend EVA.

I've flown EVA once, was a good flight and I had a great seat, upstairs exit. I sat next to a guy who had flown with them before a few times and during the flight he said he had been in the same seat before and had condensation start to come through the roof of the plane over his seat. Guess what happened as we started our decent, yes not only over his seat but also over the exat same seat on the other side of the plane. I guess that is why they supply blankets and cushions.

Always try and book EVA Air when i travel as I've never been disapointed with there service or food.Couldn't get them the last time as i booked short notice and went with Jet Airways which is an Indian Company and was impressed with them also.Flying with EVA Air in Dec .I'd be surprised if you can get a flight this close to Xmas but good luck... :Surrender1:

I usually fly EVA. I'm using them for my next trip dec 13 from sfo. starting using them because they offer delux economy seats. it's a great value for such a long trip. I can't fly regular economy any more because I've been spoiled by deluxe. Also the flight schedule is great. Leave SFO around midnight/1AM, 2-3 hour stop in taiwan, arrive bkk 11AM. So I have almost a full day when I arrive.

I've flown EVA a few times in the past but their inflight service wasn't that good - so so food and drinks trolley came round only once !

If you're not pressed for time, I'd choose Emirates for their great service

You got a steal £429 for a direct flight, I have flown with them twice and they were very good, my last flight was with Jet Airways, and I remember walking of the plane and saying to the attendant thank you that was the best flight I have ever had. Booked them again for August 2010 but got Singapore Air for January because they had a super price available I couldnt refuse. £330. but they have changed the times 3 times already.

EVA you wont have a problem.

Unless you happen to be a 'sawed off jockey' pay the extra $$ and fly 'Elite - Deluxe'. Best deal in the air IMO. You'll be glad you did. Food's still inedible though. Eva has the worst in-flight food I've ever eaten ! Hit a buffet before you fly. Eva in Biz rocks these days though. They're about as good as Cathay or Sing I think. wj

All reads relatively good for a budget airline, but what's the inflight entertainment like? Personal TV screen? Good entertainment selection on there?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Somehow I don't think Eva could be described as a budget airline being part of the biggest transportation company in the world !

Seat back tv's with avod system.

Thanks for the info re: in-flight entertainment.

I don't mean Eva being budget airline in the Ryanair sense of the word, rather I suppose, 'value for money' airline.

Yeah deffo value for money, if you hunt around you can gets flights from Heathrow for under £470 direct

I am flying Thai this time round, only because Eva return flight time didn't suit my connecting flight home, but just noticed that Eva on a Monday lands an hour earlier, this makes the flight back to Belfast doable so hopefully the next trip will be flying with Eva if the price is right :)
