Pattaya, October 13 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : The Tourism Authority of Thailand Region 3, which covers the Pattaya area, recently received complaints from authorities in India regarding the treatment of Indian Tourists who come to Pattaya by some business operators and their staff. These complaints are being treated very seriously as the Tourism Authority are specifically targeting Indian Tourists in their current campaigns to attract more foreign Tourists to the Kingdom. They are also concerned about local criminals who are targeting Indian Tourists who appear to be easy targets for them. Efforts are now being made to rectify these problems in time for the next High Season and it is expected that Indian’s will make up a large proportion of foreign tourists who come to Thailand within the next 6 months. There are some who have criticized the Tourism Authority for not consulting business operators prior to the recent campaigns which may have resolved problems before they occurred. Here in Pattaya further consultations are expected to take place involving businesses and local Police Divisions including the Tourist Police who will be asked to identify and arrest those criminals who are targeting Indian Tourists.

Indian tourist share one drink between 5, do they do the same by sharing one bargirl between the 5 of them.

I suppose the BMs who believe this should take it up strongly with TAT. If zillions to Indians land up in Patts, they will kill the hunting grounds by overgrazing...

Is big problem to bring tourists with only little money to spend.

Why not just ask them to identify and arrest criminals? What is so special about Indian tourists?

Sadly, the Pattaya tourist experts, off their own backs, seem to have blown their whopping big tourism budget bringing tourists to Pattaya who have little spending power or inclination to purchase and, hence, are unattractive to those businesses and individuals based in Pattaya looking to sell goods or services. It's not rocket science, but a Thai marketing strategy focused on India, Russia and Korea has delivered square pegs for round holes (an excess commodity in Pattaya); and now it appears that this must be the fault of everybody and anybody but the clowns who approved and implemented the 2009 tourism plan.

When a man is tired of Pattaya, he is tired of life.

I have also witnessed this, there is no wonder that they are unpopular.

Well said H.O.E.

Agree some are bad, but some are good. Those that complain about one bottle of beer amongst two should go to my Fav GoGo bar in Soi 8 "Sexy Girls" there you will find the farang drinking his 50bt draught beer that takes a couple of hours, evaporation took care of most. They send me bad looks as to why I should have a couple of girls around me, giving neck and arm massage.

Those are the real (self opinionated) cheap charlies.

Sailed with fellow Indian officers when I worked for the Israelis, fine bunch of guys.

I wont be on leave for a few Sundays, how long are you staying/when you back??

Guys...just to take forward what HOE said, i am an indian and i visit the LOS once every year for a week, and stay at the best of hotels like Sheraton in patts and bkk,or aone royal cruise e.t.c profiling everybody on basis of some is wrong.

but one thing which is right is that the first time indian overseas travellers travel to thailand and are budget travellers, the well heeled one prefer europe or other asian destinations like HK.So, the percentage of budget travellers is higher in Thailand.

Well, Indians are unpopular only in bars and some selected nightlife areas.

But they are popular in most of the tourism spots and jewelery and electronic

shops. Each and every Indian visiting LOS carry materials worth of 20000 to

25000 worth of items(Mostly LCD tvs and gold) when they are returning to

their homeland after completing their short trip.

There expenditure towards :Ignore1::GoldenSmile1: drinks and girls may be less

compared to the other falangs, but in an average they will spend between

3000 to 5000 bahts per day for their food, local travel

and shopping.

Most of the Indians will stay only for a short period (3 to 4 days).

IMHO a budget of 25000 to 30000(Airfare not included) for such a

short trip isn't bad.

Though they are not quite familiar with the bar procedures :Beer8: they

are quite familiar with massage centers, you can see lots of Indians

particularly in soapies.

Things are changing with INDIA and INDIANS now, more and more Indian

gentlemen are visiting patty and bkk for their long weekends frequently,

say 4 to 5 times in a year and ready to spend 30000 to 40000

for their short three day trip.

In my case I use to spend 7000 to 10000 per day for my drinks+food+girls,

I don't think that is less. some how i am quite attracted by BKK not Patts.

Wherever i go i used to get a warm and friendly reception so far.

The girls are playing fantastic with me. :Hug1:

I just finished my 3rd short trip last week and visited tulip, Mango,

Show white, Rose :Hug1: in sukhumvit in none of the places i found a sign

of discrimination or ignorance. In fact i one of the manager told me that

she is getting more Indian customers nowadays.

IMHO Indian tourists cannot be ignored or avoided by THAI tourism.

Above all the cultural ties between Thai and Indian people is continuing

for past 2500 years, starting from BUDDHA to their green curry you can

observe an impact of INDIA.

It is a fact of life ....in the near future Thailand and other hot places for travel in Asia will become dominated by the Asian market.....as the Chinese and Indian sub-continent develop a middle class with spending power and the once Great Britain and America face a continued decline in the value of their currency and standard of living, it would seem that this trend in Pattaya is irreversible ...the only real question is how long until the Farang monger becomes a minority.....
