Need advice for December Peak Season (xmas - New year time).

Just wondering if December weather in patts is decent enough to live in a non-AC room and save some bhats ? Or is December also hot enough to require AC room (I'm one of those guys who tend to sweat easily even in moderate heat) ?

In the low season (which is the only time I visit Patts), I am able to find rooms on Soi-honey for under 500 bhat. But this time I'm getting a chance of going there around xmas to new year time. Anything I can find in the 500-600 bhat range on a quiet soi (not beyond Soi Buakhaow ... since I prefer the FL's from beach rd). I'm not interested in pool or lavish breakfast etc. Just the basics.

I can only offer a very limited knowledge on the subject, the only time I've been to Patts was last year and I was there for the first 2 weeks of Dec. I like it hot and managed without the air con most of the time where as my mate in the next room had in on full time. I did find it neccesary when things were getting steamy with a partner and would'nt want to go without it.

Cheers.

Life's too short!

It's only about 3 degrees cooler on average in Dec but I find AC is essential for me even at this time. Just got back last Jun and didn't notice much difference, bloody hot anytime you go!

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Thanks for the responses guys. AC room it is then all through the year. Now if I can just find some place which doesn't jack up its price by 50% just because its high season. Wonder how come competition doesn't play any role here ... or is high season really so full of farangs that getting a room would be hard ? Some how I thought that most people would rather stay back at their homes with their families/friends during xmas and NY.

No mate, we come to AVOID them!!! I personally hate Xmas..."The season of forced merriment"

Get booked up asap mate, elsewhere here in the forum are many threads about fully booked hotels. You best spend some time on net trackin one down...
