Wan Awk Pansa ( Thai วันออกพรรษา) is the last day of the Thai Buddhist Lent. In 2009, this falls on October 4th. But, in true Thai fashion, up in Khon Kaen, it is celebrated from 1-4 October. Pictures are screen scrapes from some video editing software I have - so quality isn't the best. Videos can be seen at my Youtube Channel.

 

Videos and pictures are from Bung Kaen Nakorn Lake in Khon Kaen on 3 October 2009. Lots of food, drink, games, and morlam dancing and singing. The monks were selling Kratongs to float in the lake and even had a side business going on at the temple - 20 Baht for parking.

 

The girls start off getting something to drink. Me and my brother-in-law had pockets full of beer bottles.
