LK Metropole and LK Renaissance are high-end hotels, and IMO not too expensive. I believe they're also the nicest hotels within the Soi Diana area. You may also want to research Tim Boutique, which is located just one street over from Soi Diana. I've stayed at Tim Boutique and LK Renaissance and liked both.

Exactly Millard...I have stayed at both hotels with LK Renaissance being my last one.

Most the LK Property Group Hotels are very nice. If you want to impress your lady friend,

I suggest getting a 1 bedroom suite at the Renaissance. I know the hotel manager very well,

his name is Tong. You might be able to get one during the time you are there for about THB 2,700.

Good luck brother!

IMO, the LK Renaissance is overpriced for what it is........a 3* hotel. Also the rooms, while being good, are starting to look a little bit tatty and rough around the edges. I stayed there in May for the 1st 3 nights of holiday, with an open mind as to whether or not to stay longer, or to move to another hotel. I chose to move. Nothing really "bad" about the place, but nothing exceptional either. Some of the faults were the floor of the bathroom was like a skating rink when wet, the windows to the room leaked when it rained (a comon fault there apparently, according to housekeeping) Every time you walked on a join in the laminate flooring a small cloud of concrete would come up, and you would have dirty soles all the time. Ok, some were silly and trivial, but for the price, i would expect better. The dealbreaker for future trips for me would be that misleadingly advertised "all you can eat for 99Baht" place that opened up within the confines of the hotel. Tacky at best, and does the hotel no favours by spashing its adverts all over the window.

I stayed in Tim Boutique last weeek, it was really good couldnt fault it, I got a free upgrade to the delux jacuzzi room which was very nice. I have already booked it for my next trip in December and paid £32 per night at current exchange that about 1640 bhat per night which I think is good value for money.

Have previusley stayed at The Marriott, Platinum Nova and Tim's and would probably rate Tim's as the best, only downside is having to take your life in your hands to cross 2nd road when you come back at night !!

My shortlist for my three week trip in November includes:

- August Suites

- Tim Boutique

- LK Renaissance

Maybe to stay in two different hotels for a week and a half.

Quenton79, you said the the 1-Bed at the renaissance could be got for 2,700? Cheapest i can find is 2,800 Deluxe and 3,600 1-Bed. I would have to know this guy personally to get this rate or i could get in touch with him? To get the suite at 2,700 would be a deal clencher for me.

But one concern for me about the renaissance is the pool. I would like to get some sun in the afternoon and early evening. The pool at the renaissance gets the sun and is there good availability of sun loungers? I think with the August suites and Tim Boutique i would not have any problems here.

Maybe someone that has stayed there can let me know

Cheers

you will have the sun shining until 5 PM / 5.30 PM... not more, the pool is oriented in front of the street with the beer bars view.

it can be hard if you wake up late to get some sun, i learned that so many times in the past and was in holidays like a vampire...

Check out any of the LK properties and I've heard good things about Tim Boutique. Another plus of the Lk properties is that you are only a quick walk to Lolita's. :ShitHappens1:

May i ask were you got that rate? the hotel has quoted me more than that

Agoda are quoting this price for the end of november here is the link http://www.agoda.co.uk/asia/thailand/pattaya/tim_boutique_hotel.html

You sure you dont need to add on sales tax and VAT on top of that?

Agoda are known to leave those out until you get further into the booking process
