ONE TOURIST DIES AND ANOTHER HOSPITALIZED FROM SPIKED DRINKS

Pattaya, 29 September,2009, [PDN]: two tourists invited a couple of ladyboys back to their hotel room. While there, one or the other of the ladyboys is suspected of having spiked their hosts’ drinks, with the result that one man died and the other was hosoitalised. The case is under investigation

At 8.50 am, on 29 September, Pol.Lt.Col. Chatchai Srisuwan, Pattaya Police Investigator, was notified by Mrs. Sopis Sungkakarn, [50] the Pattaya City Hotel Receptionist that one of their clients was dead in his room and his friend, who had been sharing the room, had been sent to hospital. The police went immediately to investigate the incident.

In room 304, containing twin single beds, at Pattaya City Hotel, located in Soi Pattaya Klang 12, Moo. 10, police found a team of doctors from the Pattaya Memorial Hospital pumping the heart of Mr. Anand Amint, [25], who was lying unconscious on the bed, wearing only underpants.

Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the doctors were not able to save his life because it is estimated that he had been dead for about 10 minutes before the doctors arrived.

Police did not find any immediate signs of foul play. His clothes were on the bed next to his body and a used condom was on the floor. A few bottles of whisky and beer were also found in the room. Mr. Parwan Kumar, [41], his friend, had been sent to hospital. He was intoxicated from drugs; as yet unidentified. He was lucky to be treated in time and is now safe, but was still unable give any further information.

Mrs. Sopis said the two men had checked in at the hotel on 28 September and had both brought lady boys back to the room at 4.00 am. The two ladyboys had left the rooms later on in the early morning.

At 8.00 am, she received a phone call from Mr. Pawan Kumar that they needed an ambulance because they both felt really intoxicated, were dizzy and vomiting. By the time the doctors arrived, Mr. Anand had already become unconscious.

Police assumed that the lady boys might have put some drugs in their drinks, originally intending to rob them, but because the drugs were taking so long to take effect, they had sex, after which the ladyboys left the room.

The police filed the case and will question Mr. Pawan when he is in a better condition. The investigation is continuing.

Will the BIB eventually determine this was a 'suicide'?

Or is it possible the survivor had it in for his friend and gave himself a small dose to give himself an alibi?

Maybe Ladyby's should be avoided, I mean...isn't the "oyster" we crave?

I believe it is a very potent Thai version of Rohypnol also known as date-rape drug, tasteless and easy disolveable. The drug is also quite often distributed with the intentention to rob a person. The good advice to prevent any situation is NEVER leave drinks unattended in Pattaya or, for that matter, elsewhere and NEVER accept drinks and opened bottles from stranger.

That's no way to go. Be sensible guys, and if you want ladyboys there must be proper bars for them.

I have been drugged in Thailand and it was by Ladys Not Katoys...Ladys have drugged me and robbed me more then once in Amazing Thailand...Freelancers are some of the Best but No guarantees it wont or cant come from a Bar girl who often Freelances in many different bars..

No place on the Planet like Pattaya..Don't let your meat loaf

been there .... got drugged and robbed a few years ago ... the first dose was a laced Mentos mint. The second dose was in the drink.

They were Thai girl, not ladyboys.

This is why I got so pissed off when some skank spiked my friends drink in Mixx a couple of months ago. Of course, the cops did nothing and were only interested in how much we would pay to "look into it". Guess you have to die before the cops give a damn. Even then, I doubt they will spend too much time on the case. Too much money to be made shaking down bars/a go gos and pulling over falangs for not wearing a helmet.

Interesting. My own rules is I only drink what I give myself and never leave unattended and no food. I am always more on the safe side.

I keep hearing about these people getting druged in there rooms. I know we like to drink but I make a point of only drinking bottled water in my room when with a girl. If they try putting Rohypnol in the water you can tell. For a few hours of fun I can hold out from booze.

Hi,

I have also been drugged in pattaya, but I was lucky and didnt lose anything.

Me and my gf was out partying in walking street, going from gogo to gogo, att about 2am or something like that my gf say she is tired and want to go to sleep. Ok, I kiss her goodnight and head for some more gogo`s before I decide to end the night in insomnia. I get a chair against one of the speaker, order some drinks (captain morgan and coke, my favourite) after a couple of drinks it starts to crowd up around me, I keep my hand over my glas to avoid that someone puts something in my drink. But for a couple of minutes with lack of concentration i not watching my drink, I take a sip of my drink before it hits me that i did not watch it. I think Ok no problem, just order a new one. Thats about the last thing I remember before I wake up inside there at about 7am, almost no people there. I have sitting and sleeping on that chair against the speaker for at least 3 hours, luckily with both my hands in my pockets where I kept my money and telephone. I was lucky that I had my hands in my pocket covering up my belongings, but also lucky I did not finish that drink. Only one sip did that to me, what have happen If I drank the whole thing?

Lesson learned, always keep a eye at my drink in disco’s
