Fishing tackle - Beware!

Recommended Posts

Not mentioning any names, but a certain fishing tackle shop not a million kms from Big C on Sukhumwit, sold me a Penn reel for nearly 2000 baht on Friday. I went fishing on Saturday, it lasted less than 20 minutes, 2 screws fell out (unknown to me) and the resulting off balance did quite a bit of damage. Took it back on Sunday, but they were closed, tried again on Monday, and the woman initially blamed me for the 2 screws falling out, then told me it was not her problem and I should send it to the manufacturer. I know this is the LOS, but this knocked the smile off my face, I can tell you. 20 minutes for 2000 baht. Better value in Soi 6 !

I had an alcohol free day almost two years ago, but am still waiting to see any benefits from it. I have no plans to repeat this futile exercise.

Don't forget that Thai fish are real fighters that'll pull anything apart.

If it's good fishing you want, you should be heading here to the banks of the mighty Shannon.

I'd rather look at tits, cunts and arseholes than listen to them!

What model Penn reel was it? They do make 'rebuild kits' for them. I use the 209 levelwind series in the USA for muskie, pike and lake trout and they preform wonderfully. You can probably pick up a couple screws at a hardware if you have not lost other parts, they are not hard to tear down and rebuild.
