Some of us sometimes get caught up in the stories they (Thai girls) come up with to get us to send money. I was a victim once. I met this beautiful Thai girl at the BamBoo club in Pattaya. I fell in love 1st mistake and she said she would wait for me and would go home with her family. I would send her money every couple of weeks by Western Union. Then one day I got the bright idea of calling Western Union to see if they could tell me where the money was being picked up. Sure enough she stayed in Pattaya the whole time making me believe she was on the other side of Thailand. I confronted her about it and she never responded. Lesson learned.

If you decide to send the money you have two options:

1) you send money to her just to help / sponsor her with no strings attached. This option is good if you want her as a regular shag when being in Pattaya and have the cash to give her without hurting your finances! So you both end up with a good feeling. (and yes for all the negative ones there are still people who can appreciate helping someone and getting only a smile or a little more in return)

2) you are in love and want her to come over to farangland or marry with you. In this case i would advice you to act as fast as possible so the chance to experience the same as in the OP is minimized. So bring her over to farangland asap! And let her keep working as she needs the money and you will need you hard earned cash for visa and many other payments. Don't demand that she has to go to family until you come back if you aren't prepared to sponsor her entire monthly income which quikly can add up to 30000 Bath or even more! These girls mostly have financial obligations, car pay-off + taking care parents + sometimes children + schoolmoney + ..., so they aren't able to wait at home with for example only 10000 Bath sponsoring!

I agree with you in that the girls have financial obligations to the family and kids and school sometimes. But I have to disagree on the numbers. Even if a girl makes 50k-100k baht a month, she is still only going to send home 10-15k for a few reason. First, anything more than that, and the family starts to question what the girls are doing for work, so if a girl is telling them she is a secretary, or receptionist or bank teller, 15k baht a month for a non-bar or gogo job for a woman, is really good money. Sending too much home, raises questions sometimes. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, whose parents know what they are doing, and expect as much money as possible, but the first scenario tends to be more common.
