WHERE in Pattaya can one find ASN television?

I come to Pattaya every year, but always in February-March RIGHT AFTER THE SUPER BOWL. I made the mistake of coming here now to see my girl's family up in Kalasin, but not being able to see NFL football here has been a friggin' absolute NIGHTMARE of the first order. I won't bore anyone with the myriad reasons I need to see these games, but suffice it to say with all this Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, and La Liga CRAP on, it drives a real sports fan -- at least an AMERICAN -- up the wall when no NFL is available.

Are we in the 19th century still here???

Forgive my anger, but this is a MAJOR disruptor for me and causing me to yearn for my return to Germany where I can sit in front of a flatscreen in a massage chair with real American snacks and enjoy a real sport!

Don't get me wrong, I do like soccer as well, but somehow HATE it when it is so early in the season the and the world's best sport is impossible -- at least for me -- to find. I have seen two games here on True Sports 4 with an ASN feed at one bar, but trying to find a place with just ASN has been futile. I have done so many web searches and sent so many mails, but no one has an answer. So PLEASSSSSSSSE, if anyone knows where and how a person can see ASN in Pattaya, let me know. It will, sincerely, salvage my vacation. There is ONE game left I could catch, Monday Night Football, tomorrow at approx. 9 a.m. IF I knew where to go.

I will not be able to adequately express my sincere appreciation to anyone who can make this happen.

Life without NFL SUX the big one, it really does.

Ngu Haw,

I would try Shennigans on 2nd road, Gullivers on Walking Streen or Beach Road, or Lewinkis on Soi Pattaland 2

I get ASN at home and love it, watch NFL football replays all week. That other football is really boring.

Until this year, ESPN used to televise men's football, so I'm not entirely sure who gets this channel in

Pattaya, but if anyone is carrying it I would expect one of those places would. I would particularly

recommend Shannigans for breakfast.

Your Opinion, enough of us think differently enough to be able to blow your silly sports wages clean off map..... Don't hate american sportsters for making more money than your poofs for getting hurt evey play when the wind blows to hard.....

This board would be much better off without stupid comments like yours....

To the OP,

Dan over at 3som bar has it on all day.... Soi LK metro....

I like to see the NFL games but this is probably the biggest issue - places open at 9am WITH ASN are probably few and far between. There seems to be a lot of replays shown but they are just not quite the same.

Good luck finding it , as BJS says try 3som.

Thanks for all the civil replies. Shennigans should be easy since I am staying on Soi 4, will give that place a try for sure. Gullivers is easily locatable as well. Not really sure where Soi Pattaland 2 or 3som bar are, but if I get desperate enough, I might look for them. Only have a few more nights here, and the MNF is not a must, just would be nice for an NFL addict. If nothing else, it will serve as a good excuse to get my lazy "major wife" out of bed to eat breakfast with me. If not, maybe I can score a quickie and nab a new "mia noi.":Attitude:

I should have done my homework sooner and joined a forum months ago...

Some strange logic seems to be being applied in the responses and banter here. Each to his own sports, I suppose; but, given the number of Americans in Pattaya, why is there so little demand for American Football? IMO, if it was so popular and the demand was there, then it would be being broadcast big-time because the bars need the money. So, I suppose what the status quo demonstrates is that the spread and appeal of American Football is fundamentally confined to America and American enclaves (excluding, so it seems, American bar-owners in Pattaya).

When a man is tired of Pattaya, he is tired of life.

Oddly enough in Britain Sky features it regularly and BBC One- our biggest channel- shows the Superbowl even though it is very much a cult sport here. It's odd in Thailand that you can get all the European soccer you want, but American football is harder to find, strange considering the hundreds of thousands of Americans that go every year.

Hopefully the OP has his answers so the discussion can go a little off tack.

Bocelli - good points but add to the mix

1. There may be a lot Americans here but there are certainly more Europeans.

2. There are 65 million Thais - whatever you say about their ability to afford it or not Thais still make up 90%+ of the TV providers market. Thais love soccer - end of story!.................or not as the case may be :GoldenSmile1:

Well, I suppose the banter could go on forever about soccer vs. real football, but just wanted to take the opportunity to thank again those who logged in and made suggestions. My girlfriend and I scouted Shenanigans last night. Yes, that is what two posters were trying (in vain) to spell, and it is not on Soi 2, more in the vicinity of Soi 13. Point is, I found it based on what they sent in and am grateful. I caught Peyton Manning this morning leading his team (and by extension me and my interests) to another victory, had a good breakfast, and the best seat in the house (I was the only viewer). My girl Ms. Khiikiat was, of course, still in bed and missing the action.

This country could still use more places like Shenanigans IMHO.

I have no financial connection to the golf club in the interest of full disclosure.

OK I go to the GOLF Club on Soi LK Metro. They show all the sunday games 1AM 4AM AND 7-8 AM as well as Monday Night football .. College football and UCF fights on Sunday Morning.

They have an excellent breakfast menu. For the pond guys they watch Rugby and Croquet or cricket. as well as Golf.

I have seen 4 sporting events going on at once.. Its next to Devils Den and not the biggest bar around come early and stake out a spot to sit.

Good food reasonable prices good English speaking Bar.

Good Luck Gerry
