Art ( painted pictures)

Hey guys off to patts in 5 days and i finally want to get something done. For years now i have been watching the guys who make the very nice paintings down Mikes and the intesection towards Jomtien.

 

I want to bring a babypicture of myself and have it painted on a 30- 40 cm scale.

 

Does anyone know who is real good and what the costs are for such a thing?

Here is a price guide from one place but they are all very similar.

 

I don't know which one is the best for portraits but have a look around and you'll see what type of art they specialise in.

lots of portrait artists. Just take a stroll and stop for a chat. Look at their samples and see if they have the style you like. Most artists are very cool about their customers tastes. Just comment on how nice their stuff is but you are looking for something a bit different. Artists always like compliments even if you dont buy their works.

i posted a similar question a while back and was told about a guy up the soi by mikes but can't find the post anymore for more details. if you do find someone who's work you like would you please pm me? i'll be over in nov.-dec. thanks, deadwood

I just remembered there is a nice guy here called Nok who does excellent portraits. I've seen his stuff and it's very realistic. He was painting a 1m x 1.2m frame of children playing from a photo and it looked spot on. He told me some of the artists have got together and set up a website to sell their stuff. The prices quoted are about a third what you'd pay if you walked in.
