Government Protest set for sep 19

Im told by my friend who lives there that there is a planned anti government protest set for sep 19

 

The last time they did this (last year I think) the Bangkok airport was shut down for 3 weeks.

 

Not trying to alarm anyone but you really may want to take it into consideration

Actually there have been various protests during the last year - since the end of the airport occupation - including the very public protests in Pattaya which caused the cancelation of a major Asian summit and a big one only a week or two ago in Bangkok, which went off without any disruption to tourism.

I don't think you can yet start fretting about the fallout from whatever is planned for Sept 19.

 

Certainly the Thailand political situation is in flux and one day it will have to be resolved but that day may be years off.

In the meantime, there will continue to be these demonstrations and farang just have to get on with their lives.
