Hi to everybody

At my last trip to Pattaya I saw a advertisemt about Mr.Mac´s hotel. I couldn´t find it. Has anyone stayed at this place and can describe how to find it? Is it worth to stay there? Location not to far from the Beach Road/Walking Street?

thanks for your help

I stayed here in June, so i'll try and relate my experience the best I can.

Booking: We booked online, along with a taxi from the airport in BKK. 6600 baht per person for a room for ten days, and the taxi from the airport was the standard rate for a booked taxi (1200 I think?). Everything went very smoothly, I was really impressed.

There are cheaper rooms about, but I haven't been enough times to compare quality of any.

Room: Both rooms had a bed, shower and a balcony which was all we wanted. Also included was an electronic safe (Yay!) and a fridge full of reasonably charged drinks and two free bottles of water per day. The free water was really appreciated in the hot and humid weather.

Only thing to watch is what side you end up on, I had a view of the road facing big buddha, which one BG even remarked was quite romantic (hopefully not a lie, I was impressed anyway!). However, my friend was about six feet from a neighbouring hotels balcony with no view.

Also, there are no lifts and three floors. Didn't bother me personally but see how it could for some.

Noise levels: A little noise from the thai orientated karaoke bar down the road, but otherwise a quiet location.

Service: Absolutely amazing. They helped us find our way to places as and when required as well as many other requests. Also, we got free pancakes/thai whisky and margheritas from the adjoining restaurant on two occasions. Laundry service is available, rooms are cleaned daily and your ladies will have to hand in ID's at front desk (I'm led to believe this is standard procedure, but worth noting for newbies).

No joiners fees are payable by the way.

Location: A small trek from the main action. Possibly the only downer.

A great experience was had here, and I highly reccomend it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
