i wouldnt trust anything at that airport! Why not leave it at your hotel in thailand. They wont charge for it and i have yet to have anything nicked whilst leaving bags in hotel storage

No airports in the US have luggage lockers due to security concerns after 9/11, andI would be surprised if any other countries have them either. I've never seen any at the BKK airport

They have a SUPERB system in Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Its a 'left luggage' company. Its 100 baht per bag per day and is open 24 hours a day. There are two offices in the airport. Level 2 and level 4. They are all the same company (Chubb). You have to go back to the same office that you left the bag.

I've used it loads of times with no probs whatsoever. One occassion I left a bag that was full of breakable ornaments. I asked them to look after it carefully. After 2 weeks, I picked it up and it was in pristine condition.

Here is a link to a site that discusses it.

Would there be a problem having a netbook in the luggage? I read somewhere they would xray the luggage and refuse if they spot anything of value.

Are there other places I could keep my luggage?

I left luggage before in my hotel in Pattaya. No problem there, but this time I would need a place in BKK, preferably near to the airport. I would like to save the way from PTY to BKK town, back to the airport just to store my luggage at a hotel I return to a week later.

My advice with this is that you wrap it up in bubble wrap and then put in in your laptop case, then just put it in a regular luggage bag (if you think they wont accept laptop/netbooks.

Ive used them many times and on one occasion, I told them there was an expensive marble head statue in the luggage and for them to take good care of it. They said no problem and I received it in tip top condition.

There is no X-ray machine in the offices. You just give them your bag(s) and you sign the receipt book and they just put it behind in the storage area.

This is good info luvyoulongtime. Thanks mate. I`m sure that many BMs will use that service when they are out of the country for a short sidetrip or whatever reason.

Cheers,

Adrie.

luvyoulongtime, that was the information I needed. Thank you a lot.

I'm sure a lot of people have jewelery or watches worth more than a used netbook already some years old. So it's not about the value.

I'm not afraid of them opening the bags. They would have a lot of work to do to open up each bag without getting caught.

The same applies to any hotel. All the staff has access to your stored luggage.

I feared more they could refuse to store my luggage at all.

An alternative might have been the backpacker luggage storage of bangkokselfstorage.

Oh, I had forgotten this thread.

Report from the field: The left luggage is located on the departure level on the back wall, right hand side. I think it was behind "Q", but better double check.

They will X-ray your luggage. They notice there is a laptop inside and you have to sign, that they will not be responsible for any loss or damage.

For 100 Baht a day not the cheapest way, but was convenient and ok for me.

I don't understand the advice to pay for a room. A room would be much more than 100 Baht a day. Without an in-room safe not more secure I guess.
