There is a little heard of football team that breaks somewhat from Thai tradition but has done pretty well to reach the last 16 in Thailand after beating Surin and Bangkok University United in the last two rounds.

Match Sum Ups.

Surin v Magna Pattaya.

An exciting game with Surin going 2 up in the first 5 mins. Magna fought back to draw the game 3-3 after 90 minutes. Penalties resulted in Magna winning 9-8. Magna were 33/1 to win this game.

Bangkok Uni V Magna.

Another good game and a much improved Magna team beat Bangkok Uni FC 2-1. Magna were 16/1 to win.

Now they have drawn Chonburi FC who were last year winners of the FA cup and Chonburi FC is managed by the much revered Ex Thai international player Ziko. They are bringing an expected 2,000 supporters with them and of course are favourites to win. There supporters will well outweigh us by many times but Thai football matches are friendly.

But we have something up our sleeves. We have players from Africa including our Cameroon striker who does the 100 Metres in about 10 seconds. Sometimes even in the right direction.. We have a truly international look about our team.lol

Our team is also managed by another Thailand ex International called Tinagon who was a long time respected defender in the same Thai team that Ziko played in from 1988 to 2003. Tinagon still to this day holds the record for the most red and yellow carded player ever to play for Thailand. What an accolade that is! There is some definite pre match needle between the two managers.

The Mayor of Pattaya has got right behind Magna FC giving us their Baht 5,000 seater football stadium (Pattaya FC's ground) for free and it does have seating.

It is at the top of Soi Nernplabwan which is the Soi next to Soi Siam Country Club off Sukhumvit Road. Go up Nerplabwan for about 6 kilos and you will come to the temple. The stadium is behind the temple. Why not stop off at one or two dark side bars on the way home or the way out to the match?

Kick off is at 6pm and the entry fee is 300 Baht for Thai's or falangs. Feel free to bring your girlfriend of course. The 300 baht can include a free fluorescent green T shirt but we need to know quickly in advance so these can be ordered. If not then just turn up in time for the kick off. Even if we loose which Justony says is impossible then it should be a fun game.

Magna Pattaya FC is sponsored by Magna Carta Law Firm, Pattaya.

Map to find.
