Life In Th Uk Test

COYS

Recommended Posts

When would my fiance need to take this test if we were to apply for a fiance visa for the UK? Would it need to be taken before she arrived or after?

Does anyone know of a company who would assess whether or not we have a good enough chance of obtaining a Visa before we actually start to pay?

I don't like the thought of paying 15,000-20,000 initial deposit to a company if we have little or no chance of actually obtaining the Visa.

I don't mind paying the 30,000 baht fee but I would like to know if we have a reasonable chance of obtaining a visa based on the documents that we can or cannot provide, etc. before I start to pay.

Hi, Life in the Uk is not required for that visa, a fiance visa is a 6 month window to marry in the UK. Once married you apply for FLR in the UK which you then recieve a 2 year visa she can work etc. After 2 years you apply for ILR in the UK you must pass the KOL requirement to gain this after year 3 she can apply for UK passport.We have done numerous applications for board members and are regulated by the OISC in the UK.

Further information :

He/she must show that:

  • you are legally married to each other or have registered a civil partnership;
  • you are going to live together permanently as man and wife, or as civil partners;
  • you have met each other;
  • you can support yourselves and any dependants without help from public funds;
  • you have adequate accommodation where you and your dependants can live without help from public funds; and
  • he/she is aged 21or over.

    If you require profesional help we have an office in the UK/Pattaya im currently here at the moment and can be contacted on 07830072092.

    Regards Paul.

K Coys:

Make your own assessment first and ignore all tales of quick fixes or dark stories about difficulties. Take a good look at this site and the links thereon; a bit more user friendly than the UK site and you can download all the forms you'll need. Pay particular attention to Item 7 - Supporting Documentation. No need to go an agent at this stage.

Let us know how you get on: there's a lot of BMs who've been in the same situation.

Good Luck!

I agree information is freely available however you are paying for application experience many people may only do this once we do this daily. Our office is the only one in Pattaya regulated by the OISC ;you are paying for your application to be prepared including translations escorting your partner to Bangkok taking her for the x ray and making the bankers draught and ensuring the agents at UK/Vac i use that term loosely mostly travel agents do not steal your file.Your documents are posted back to our office if there is a problem i can take a look immediately and deal with this for you in Thailand.We are believe this or not at least 10,000 baht cheaper than are main competitors and no re application fee should you have a problem, you are dealing with myself who has an office in the UK/Pattaya. And we have no hidden charges only the visa application fee plus x ray is payable by the client.We specialise in family settlement and we actually know the immigration rules if you enter our office you get a straight answer either i can help you or i cannot, any appeals are forwarded on to a level 2 adviser if required.By the time you have travelled including airfares hotels etc to submit it you may as well use a Consultant to take care of everything anyone who has dealt with myself will realise our level of service is excellent.The main priority is to get your partner the visa asap, either instruct a good consultant or do it yourself quite simple.

  • 3 weeks later...

Paul. At the very basic level you need to ask yourself 3 questions with regards to your chances on obtaining a settlement visa:

1. Can I prove that I am in a subsisting relationship with my g/f?

2. Can I provide my family with suitable accommodation in the UK without recourse to public funds (Benifits)?

3. Can I financially support my family in the UK without recourse to public funds?

If you can answer 'yes' to the above 3 questions you should not have any problems. On a side note to do with public funds, when your daughter is resident in the UK, you can claim Child Benifit and Family Tax Credit without this effecting your wifes FLR or future ILR application.

With respect may i ask how many applications have you done recently your experience may be based on 1 application i base them on doing this daily.And i agree in an ideal world it should be straight forward however it often is not I'm afraid.

We have 1 client who clearly should be issued a visa however they don't believe his 4 bed roomed house is big enough ?

He has rooms within the property for exclusive use etc, however they are having problems.

He shares this with 2 parents he clearly qualifies as per the 1985 housing act etc yet however he gets a refusal.

He meets the maintenance and accommodation rules however it has gone to appeal so not everything is as straightforward as you think ?

And if your partner gets called for an interview which can happen periodically and she makes a mess of everything at the interview what then ?

Things are not always as easy as people think or as straightforward i would like to think they are but what about the cricket team that was refused entry this year.

Often the ECO glances through the file and misses evidence such as previous travel history for Tourist visas etc.

So i would advise to do a well laid out application if you need help use a registered consultant.Who has a fee scale complaints procedure etc in place.

Good luck

In his first post Paul was asking about how he could find out about his chances of obtaining a visa before he approached a Visa Agent. My earlier post was not an attack on any Visa Agents, more a first look by Paul himself at the basic and I say again basic requirements he would have to meet. If Paul can answer yes to those 3 questions he can move forward with his application. If he does not feel that he can prepare the application himself then he should use a Visa Agent with a good reputation. In this case, if Paul wishes to use a Visa Agent, I would suggest that he uses the service of your good self at Thai Visa Express. On this and other Visa forums you offer good advice, receive good feedback, and of course you are OISC registered. Best of luck Paul. Best of luck Azzzey, not having a personal pop at you mate.

Yes i know you was not having a pop at me, i was just getting the point across that not all is straight forward with any applications. And as i have always said either do it yourself or employ the services of a consultant who has demonstrated proven ability with applications. And who charges reasonable fees and offers a good service to the client we have too many poor advisers IMO advising clients with miss-information on the best way forward with the application.

One such company operates out of UK/Vac and they would go to prison if they did this in the EU/UK. They recently conned a guy out of 20,000 baht who had prepared his application himself and done a good job may i add . He went to submit it the fee is 3900 baht they met him at the lift informed him they work for UK/Vac and he was totally unaware until he spoke to me that they had conned the poor guy. The low life that hang around that place touting for work and harassing people is unbelievable yet they allow this to go on.

However as i said no worries good luck with your new business venture .

And my name is Paul also adds to the confusion 55555.
