Travel Health Insurance

HI all

I am looking for some expert advise on travel health insurance. I am coming to LOS for 5+ weeks in Aug and Sept. My main mission for the trip is to attend a Muay Thai Boxing Academy in Phuket for 4 weeks, with the remaining time being devoted to Pats (bookending the boxing). I recently lost my job, so I have very minimal health insurance, so since I am undertaking an activity with a higher likelihood of injury (the boxing not the mongering :23: ), I wanted to ensure that I have adequate medical coverage in the event of an issue. On my many other trips abroad I have not worried about this in that I have always been insured through my employers coverage. Questions for you all?

1) Any companies you have worked with before and could recommend

2) What dollar (USD) coverage would you recommend? $100K seems to be normal. Is this adequate in LOS?

3) If you have experience with specific companies, what are the pitfalls to watch out for (i.e. the small print)

Thanks in advance

Chris
