is maybe on his way back

apparently the red shirts are saying that he is willing to pay

something in the region of 1600000000 baht to thailand goverment

as long as he can come back and possibly stand in the elections

is this good or bad for thailand

in my veiw or imho it would be bad

he could afford to with the money he ripped of the thais

and not paying taxes on the telephone sytem he bought cheap and sold to singapore cousins

after running it into the ground by not giving it goverment assistance

he then bought it cheap

and sold it to some of his cousins at a massive profit using goverment money

and the not paying taxes on it

so he could afford to give millions of baht to villages for their support

basically bought votes

and still paying them now to cause trouble

he was in london for a while

and had a big bullet proof merc with the registration tha1

I agree he was better for tourists, but it still sounds like bad news to me.

He's got a lot of money and influence and no interest in maintaining the status quo.

If he's allowed back over there that probably means he's already made big inroads into the current ruling coalition.

 

 

My understand was he gave and leant and lot of money to the poor, which pretty much guaranteed him election wins and allowed him to completly ignore the 'educated' electorate and make a lot of money for himself and his family at the expense of the state.

The establishment thought he was abusing democracy and removed him, but despite several changes of goverment they seem unable to rid the political system of his influence.

 

If he comes back to power I don't think this will be the end of things for the yellowshirts.

I've just emailed a few Thai friends in BBK about this to find out if there is any truth behind it. I hope he doesn't come back to be honest as he's just out for himself and has got most of his support from people who are following him blindly.

Most of the Thai friends I spoke to are pretty worried about this as they think if he does return to power he'll take revenge on the people who stood against him previously. The guy is a complete nut job but a pretty crafty one which makes him pretty dangerous.

Simple fact is its Thai business so best keep our noses out of it.

On a personal note i like the yellow shirts got stuck in Bkk for 5 extra days when they had a sitting at the airport.

Five extra days with my son and wife.

Don't like the red shirts got stuck in a traffic jam for 2 hours because of them simple as that.
