This site is not to be confused with MOMONDO.COM MOMONDOTRAVEL.CO.UK is a scam site set up and run from India. It harvests credit card numbers by offering cheap flights.

 

Confirmation emails are then sent and it all looks sort of legit.

 

Luckily we noticed the confirmation came with the header farawaytravels.co.uk on it and we new from a Phuket board that the site of that name was a known scam.

 

They have all the right looking bits and bobs secure payment etc and an ATOL number. But the ATOL number is not thiers (rang the company) they have complained to both ATOL trading standards and the police but no one has shut down the site as its hosted in Mumbai.

 

One of the owners of momondo.com has posted about them on his twitter blog his name is spirir

 

The upshot of it was we have had to cancel and replace our cards and all MBNA were interested in was trying to sell us fraud insurance.
