I've been reading a lot of Pattaya related news recently and can't help noticing the high suicide rate of Foreign Nationals in Pattaya. It's not uncommon to read Man Jumps From Balcony or Man Hangs Himself etc. Pattaya is a fun place to be so why the fuck is everyone topping themselves?... Is it the heat, too much drink what is it?... I would like to live in Thailand eventually but if it's going to drive me to the brink of suicide I might just give it a miss and stick to the holidays instead...

I have some background knowledge on one case in Patts. I talked to his family and everyone told me: "We expected it. We tried to help him but we could not". He travelled around the globe, had a last big party and then he went. He did not want his family to find him at home but rather die far from his home.

Some guys go to Pattaya intending to end their lives. They party until the money runs out and then take a flyer.

 

Some guys get their hearts broken by the "ladies". Broke and brokenhearted, they end it.

 

Some guys get thrown off their balconies. {Never seen one investigated as a homicide.}

 

How many of each? Who knows?
