Manhattans Restaurant

During my next holiday I'm thinking of visiting Manhattans Restaurant. Looking at there website www.manhattans-pattaya.com it looks a very nice place to go and eat.

 

The place is also very expensive.

 

So I was wondering if anybody has ever visited the place. Is it a good place to go and relax and get something to eat. I don't want to spend loads of money if it's not very good

the food there is top notch you should certainly enjoy it

 

yes it is expensive by Thai standards but they are doing specials now if you eat early doors- 5-7pm 2 courses I think is 800 bt

I've been to Pattaya lots of times and I'm always looking for new places to visit.

It's always good to try out new places

The food is great but you could spend up to 5,000bht in total if you have a bottle of wine.

Over all if you both dress to kill you'll be able to enjoy the night in style.

Oh one more thing, if you give them a call and book they will send a car for you at no extra cost, I,ve

I hear you. The women I run with would shit in their pants at 325 Baht Minced pork salad (lap moo) and 50 baht steamed rice.

 

Better to go alone or with a mate, they can't appreciate a steak just like we can't appreciate some of their food.

If I did go to Manhattans then it should be with a special lady. Last December when I was in Pattaya I split up with the girl I was seeing on a regular basis. So if I did go there during my next visit then it's unlikely to be with a special lady

Actually was there when they first opened up, (when there was only 1 small fish in each tank LOL) The food was good, The steaks are okay but not to standards of the high end steak restaurants in either the States or Oz.

That being said, the food was good, if you like Shrimp, I would try the bacon wrapped shrimp as it was very good. The clams casino are also pretty good as well. Make sure you check the Thai menu on the back of the Menu as they have a wonderful Shrimp and garlic dish that goes well with a nice steak dinner.... It is a lot cheaper to get this dish than it is to order shrimp as an addition to your meal.... ( Just a thought)

The wine list is priced very very high, But if you look around you can find a decent wine by the glass...

The Same people that Own Door 2 door and The Sportsman also own Manhattans.

The bar is usually the starting off point each evening for a nice relaxing Mojito (some of the best around),

If the valet is not busy, he will take you to WS even if you do not have dinner but are there for just drinks . No charge but a tip is much appreciated.

Be prepared to spend $$$ if you do not take advantage of the 2 and 3 course specials offered during the 5-7 pm seating...

Im not sure if they are taking credit cards as they did not each of the last few times i was there.

If I go depends on weather I meet a BarGirl that I like enough to take there. I'm a lone traveller so I wouldnt go there and eat alone. If I met a top notch bar girl or gogo girl then I will go to Manhattans and take her with me

Great stuff thanks for the info as I always stay in Jomtien and have always passed it (Manhattan) everyday. So I'll try it out for sure this time when i arrive. cheers........

bar girls don't have the class to appreciate good food, better off giving them 20bt to go to the food stall.

This helps confirm my suspicions. My Friend reckoned there was not even imported beef for the steaks. LOL... Now that you say that the owners is the same owners as Door to Door and the sportsman, then I understand why the steaks are shit!@@@@@@@!!!!!!!

 

Do yourself a favor, Pay me 5000 baht and I will cook you a fabulous steak for you and your Teelak with a decent bottle of wine and save yourself the heartache. LOL Plus if you want Thai food for the Teelak, then My missus makes a mean Dish of whatever she likes, LOL... And I dont even run a business, but Hate to see people get stupid amounts of money for DECENT FOOD when the DECENT FOOD is SHIT@@@!!!!!!

My favourite Thai restaurant is the PIC Restaurant in Soi 5.

 

I think that I might go there instead whilst I am in Pattaya

I took a couple of friends there last year.

 

The NYC boys who own the place (I think I got that right) know what they are doing.

 

Steaks were perfect, the wine was great, the service right on cue. After dinner they took us back to our hotels in a really cool custom Hi-Ace. nice touch.

 

And really expensive - My kind of place!!!

 

I'll be back....top notch excellent!

How does Manhattans compare with Bruno's - which has been my favourite place so far?

Food's excellent , but heard the owner's a toal c**t. A good friend worked here as a manager when it opened but got sacked as he was proving more popular with customers than the owner.

 

Not surprising as he came from 4 Seasons hotels, one of the World's best chains.

 

You will enjoy it here, but by THailand standars, it is horrendously over-priced. By Pattaya standards, the prices are stratospheric.

 

Think!!!!! You could have a good room and a lady for the night, a great meal elsewhere, a ton of drink and a driver to get you back for what you will spend on a meal here.

In the end I didnt go to Manhattans Restaurant. There wasn't any particular reason why I didnt go. In the end I just didnt get round to going there. As I visit Pattaya a couple of times a year I may still visit Manhattans some time in the future.
