Change in EVA frequent flyer program

I just noticed that EVA no longer give miles to Continental Airlines program. Exception being the very high priced fare. This was a great deal for me as I made Continentals elite status every year with loads of domestic upgrades and the miles accumulated fast. Now I'm screwed. Anyone know whats going on with the merge to the star alliance group. I guess it goodbye EVA, will miss you....

Well, I'm also disappointed that I won't be able to get NWA/Delta miles anymore flying on Continental starting in a few months too. Anyway, Continental often has deals to Bangkok (from NYC), codesharing either from NRT or HKG.

I found buying a r/t ewr-hkg on continental then buying a r/t hkg-bkk on emirates was the cheapest with a great outbound connection, but over night in hong kong on return. ( 1 night checking out 141.com). but you can't use miles anymore to bkk. Thats &%$@*(

I've done that too. ewr-hkg and then Kenya Air same day is also a good connection and receives Skyteam miles too.

Nothing wrong with Kenya Air. Good service. It's a short flight anyway.
