Sandy Springs, Pattaya Centre, Lk Renaissance or Eastiny

Comparing these hotels for my stay in Nov, I have stayed at Pattaya Centre before on the 16th floor and hated the elevators they are very slow I book directly through the hotel so i didn't have to pay a joiner fee but i thought for the quality of room and service it was a bit expensive but i really like the area because it it close to everything, i was on a high floor and had a nice view of pattaya which almost out weighs all of the cons. the cons to this hotel is the elevator they are very slow i had to wait 15 min one time for the elevator, the rooms are a little worn, shower has issues ( hot water and didn't drain) no internet, no in room safe, pricey i think i paid 2400 per night. The pros are very girl friendly booking directly with hotel any thing above 12th floor you can bring in as many guests as you want, I love the view, the location, the parking for rented motorbike was secure, big bed and spacious room. I am expressing interest on Sandy springs hotel because of location but was wondering about there deluxe rooms do they have a nice view, how was the beds as far as comfort and size and did they ever charge a joiner fee? I see on the website they charge 1600 per night which seems more in my price range out of all of the hotels. It seems LK Renaissance has a big following and seems to meet all my needs but i emailed them a few days ago to get rates and availability but never emailed me back, I tried looking at other websites for my dates such as Agoda.com and others but indicated that hotel is not available. I see that the rates are around 2400 for deluxe which is ok a little more than i want to spend but if the quality is there it may be worth it. My last resort would be eastiny 7 on soi 7, I stayed there before as well a couple of years ago and didn't have any complaints other than noise after 4pm. But i think i paid around 1100 per night and they did not charge a joiner fee, king size beds, location was good near Soi 6, I think i have this set as a last resort because of no view, but the price is nice. So i guess I am thinking out loud and looking for some advise out of the 4 hotels which one would you recommend. thanks

My reccomendation's are ......

No# 1 LK Renaissance... It's on Soi Diana very close to 2nd Road and Mikes Department store and Kiss Food. It is newer than the other 3 hotels and meets all your needs

and within your price requirements. It has wi-fi and swimming pool, a room on the back side would surpress noise from the bars across the street.

Transporttation 24/7 would be easy and quick. Soi Diana/ Soi Bouakouw/ Lk Metroareas are close by within 2 minutes walk. Do a search and find out all the details.

No# 2 would be Sandy Springs because of location, central to all of Pattaya. It is a bit worn now but many BM's still like it... Do a search and read up on it.

No# 3 Pattaya Centre... you know all about this one

No # 4 Eastiny... Too much noise for my taste

Selecting hotels are pretty much like each person's selection of women, each person has their own taste, which entails, price ( how much or how little ), size ( how big or how small ) facilities ( what do they offer ).

In reading the forum you will see that everyone has different requirements in what they are looking for in a hotel. From the four you mentioned, these would be my order of preference.

Good luck to you.

Renaissance gets my vote also. You can try various internet sites as some have different rates so it pays to shop around.

A comparable place is the relatively new August Suites on Pattaya Klang (central road) about 100 meters from 2nr Road. It is very nice and quieter than the others if that is of interest. The location is convenient for baht bus transportation but no bars around the hotel. They do not use internet hotel sites and you need to go through their website for reservations. I stayed there earlier this year and got a slightly better rate by email then what they first offer from the website. http://www.augustsuites.com/rates.html

Common sense is not very common.

I will be staying at the LK Renaissance when I come in September. I have read a lot of good review about it.

The only bad thing I heard about it is that the Deluxe room did not come with a shower head. They say the location

is great and the service from the staff is superb!!!! I stayed at Sand Springs a few times....no complaints.

The hotel is located by a pub that makes a great steak. I can not comment on Pattaya Centre or Eastiny, never been there

before. I have the front office manager e-mail's address at LK Renaissance, if anyone wants, PM me and I will hook you up!!

Good luck with your search!!!

I arrived at the LK Renaissance last night and booked the Deluxe room through Agoda. Not sure where you heard the room did not come with a shower head but I have a bathroom with a jacuzzi and separate shower stall. This is my second stay and everything is great. Brought two girls in last night no problems. The girls did raid my fridge but even the prices for the mini-bar is quite reasonable (unlike Marriott for example). Anyway, it is now day TWO will report more later.

Do a search on here for "taxi" and you will find quite a few posts about a few taxi companies that would be cheaper than any hotel transfer service, and just contact them direct, either by email, or phone. All details revealed during the search

Just as a point of information LK is starting a 99 Baht Buffet starting August 1st, all you can eat, and according to the advert, the menu looks excellent for the value...

Thanks for the info....I heard about the shower heads at www.tripadvisor.com

I go there a lot to find out what other people think about the hotels I am planning to stay or the ones I have stayed at.

I'm going through the motions of booking at the LK Renaissance for October. I'm looking at the Studio rooms and there's no mention of a shower head, just a jucuzzi tub. Only the Deluxe rooms and up mention a separate shower. Has anyone stayed in the Studio rooms and could you tell me if there is a shower head there or only a bath tub? I'm hoping for a shower/tub combo because I'l too tall for only a tub! Thanks! :BB_Fight:

If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

The Studio rooms have only a bathtub, no shower.

Deluxe rooms have both.

Thanks

Hi guys. A couple of days ago I started this post. http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/index.php?/topic/42700-i-have-stayed-here/page__view__findpost__p__662375 for this reason I guess.

According to BM's replies the top rated (Visited) hotels are...Areca Lodge, Soi Diana.(First) LK Renaissance, LK Metro, and Sunshine hotel and Residence, Soi 8. (Joint second) Flipper Lodge, soi 8 (Third)

This is early days but the more people that enter their details the better the picture will become. If you can spare a minute to add your user name to the growing list please do. If you are not familiar with Excel spread sheets but still would like to contibute PM me or just post the names.

When I have enough visits registered I will post the findings.

GoogleDocs runs slower than normal Excel spead.. sorry

Cheers Guys

The Cool Cafe on Central Rd does a breakfast for 50Bt. I tried it once and it was dire. I remember reading on the Bangkok Bob website about suits that are made in 24 hours. He said that if you buy a suit that is made in 24 hrs, you will get a suit that looks like it was made in 24 hrs. With these two in mind, I think an "All you can eat buffet" for 99bt should be treated with a degree of caution.
