Russian Man arrested following 10 Baht robbery on Walking Street

 

In the early hours of Sunday Morning, Police Major Wittaya from Pattaya Police Station was called to a Family Mart Convenience Store following reports of a Russian Tourists who had allegedly stolen two boxes of Instant Noodles worth a total of 10 Baht. The 38 year old man confessed to the theft from the Walking Street store and was handcuffed at the scene after he attempted to escape. He claimed that he had run out of money and had been cheated out of his money by bar girls and simply wanted to eat but had no money to purchase anything so he decided to steal the noodles himself. He was detained pending further enquires.

Being poor is a far worse crime than the stealing.....no mercy from the courts for him....bargirls took my money defense is blaming hard working Thais for your crime.....

gotta feel sorry for this guy, he did try and steal the cheapest item of food. he needs to stay at the local temple til he is sorted.

I guess I don't believe his story....I would believe the guy thought he would get away with it (maybe compulsive) and gave his story of object poverty as an excuse....if he is really down to robbing noodles from some 7/11 he would not last long in Thailand....

Likewise. Can't believe he's down to robbing noodles. I'm sure if you were that desperate it wouldn't be that difficult to find 5 baht on the floor. Wonder how he planned on cooking them. Having said that my missus eats noodles like I eat crisps. Straight out the packet.

Makes one think what about his Taxi fare to airport? Hotel? any additional expense of staying here incl Bottled water? Not sure I believe his entire story..Most likely a petty thief everywhere he goes incl his country..
