Flights Booked! Hotels Next!

Finally got flights booked to the UK and stopping off in LOS for two weeks. I can hardly wait!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributes to this site which offers invaluable advice to newbies and old hands alike.

First time to Patts to me so after considering staying in BKK for a few nights and then heading down to Patts as I arrive on a Friday (14th Aug) I think I will be heading straight down and catching up with some BM's for the Friday drinks

If I can meet some girls of the Alleycat calibre I will be a happy man :)

One thing that I am struggling with is choosing somewhere to stay. I am looking for a place along the lines of the Amari Nova or August Suites - Basically somewhere modern and close to the action. I'm happy to pay for quality as I havent had a decent holiday for 3 years so money isnt too much of an issue but at the same time I want to make sure that where I stay is girl friendly.

Can anyone offer advice of places to stay in Patts along the lines of Amari Nova or August Suites. I have read the thread on August Suites but now thinking the Amari looks great too....

Can anyone offer advice or opinion please?

(Any advice on nice places to stay in BKK close to the action too would be greatly appreciated)

:)

If you are looking for quality stick with August Suites, the amari is very nice but its location is a turn off for some people, the August Suites is in the middle of town so great for anywhere

Jimi: I haven't stayed there yet, but there's a lot of good reports on the Baywalk Residence. You sure as shit can't find a better location. I have stayed at Best Beach Villa up on Soi 5 and that place is sweet for 1500 or so. They're sketchy about answering e-mails though. Chock Dee; wj

Welcome to the board Jim. If you do fancy staying in BKK for a couple of nights i am staying in the Montien hotel on the 14th and 15th August. It's right in the heart of patpong and not to far from the main shopping area with good access via the skytrain. The night market and bars are only about 100yards away.

i have stayed in there before and like the location. Not sure if they allow ladies back to the room though but i will cross that bridge when i come to it.

If not see you in pattaya as i presume you have put your name down for the scavenger hunt. if not look it up.

all the best and enjoy.

I can resist everything but temptation!

cheers for the advice guys...

Look like August Suites for me

Not sure what the scavenger hunt is!

Hi folks,

Similar situation, I hope to go to Pattaya for the month of Oct. August Suites looks good. Location perfect, gym pool etc

1. HOW MUCH WOULD IT BE FOR ONE MONTH IN August Suites? APPROX

2. WHATS THE STORY WITH THE EXTRA PAYMENT FOR QUESTS as per at the bottom of the rates pages?

''Non-registered Guest or Joiner Policy August Suites

A joiner charge @ 500 baht will be charged per person per night.'' Are they for real?

3.Are they charging extra for the utilities with monthy rate? Is it a fair price?

ALSO

4. Does Pattaya Bay resort have electronic safes in looms?

5. Anyone stayed on View Talay 6 on beach rd? Got price of 25,000THB for one month plus Utilities. Is that a fair price?

HOPE TO MEET UP WITH SOME OF YOU BOARD MEMBERS IN OCT.

Joiner fees may be avoided if you book for two people. The higher end hotels do this to provide a "family" friendly atmosphere. If they balk at you booking for double occupancy, move on to the next. I know Amari Boulevard on Soi 7 in Bangkok does this, which pissed me off to no end. You want to avoid all that shite, just go to Sandy Spring, get a suite, you'll be very happy. No Hoity Toity BS, staff very accepting of the monger mode. Happy Hunting Bro.

OBLA DEE BRO........
