Shabushi Restaurant, 6th FL. Central Festival

Recommended Posts

Shabushi is on the 6th floor of the new Central Shopping Center. It is an all you can eat (for 75 minutes) Shabu Shabu and Sushi buffet, served on a conveyor belt in the same fashion as the Sushi Bars in Japan. The cost is ฿239 per person for the first 75 minutes. It is ฿20 per person for every 10 minutes after that. There is also a 10% Service Charge along with the 7% VAT automatically added to each bill, so separate tipping is not advised.

The seating is bar style, with tables for those with small children, or parties of four or more.

The food comes by on conveyor belt and includes a selection of fresh meats, vegetables, seafood, etc.

My favorite, a ground pork meatball with corn.

There is also a selection of Sushi that comes by.

As you get your choice of foods, you cook them in your personal hot pot. You can choose from plain soup or Tom Yum. I tried both.

DSC05180.jpg

DSC05169.jpg

After the food is cooked, you dip it in the provided chili sauce. You can add to the level of spiciness if you want.

DSC05168.jpg

There is also a small prepared food section with Fried Rice, Gyoza and Shrimp Tempura.

DSC05182.jpg

DSC05183.jpg

Drinks and fruit/dessert are included. The Green Tea is good, but the Fruit Punch is sickly sweet like syrup. I passed on the ice cream.

This restaurant is extremely busy, especially during the weekends, and on weeknights. The busier it is, the less likely the foods you want will make it to your seat. I found it better to go during the week in the afternoon.

I went there with the family and thoroughly enjoyed it although one or two dishes (the pre made ones not the stuff you cook yourself) were a little bland.

Chuck - you have shown us your starters - what you have for pud????

everyone knows I love pics of food! Great review Chuck!

I have been to a conveyor belt style Sushi restaurant before in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida before. It's amazing how often a lot of the food won't even make it a full lap around the restaurant, always fresh and good quality. Will consider visiting this place now!

Great review Chuck, I have eaten there 3 times so far and love the selections even though I am not normally a sushi eater. The only thing you missed was the dessert fruits over by the tempura area. Really handy if you are taking in a movie at the top floor theatres.

This place is great, I love it!

First went there with BM OCMan and I was hooked. Thai girls love this place aswell and it is a much better alternative, in my opinion, than MK restaurants. The selection is wide the food tastes good. But as has been mentioned, it is always busy and you may have to wait to get a seat but definitely worth it in my opinion.

Care to share why?

Because after you blow your load there is only one other thing you think about before you reload and that is "food".

The girls love this place. And so do I! Unfortunately it's always fucking busy so you should expect to wait for up to 20 minutes in the evenings. Worth it though.

I love the all you can eat shushi and shrimp tempura :) For those that don't know, Shabushi has the exact same restaurant in Tesco Lotus on Sukimvet/Theprasit Road. The food is the exact same but the prices are slightly lower and they have an even lower price if you go in the early afternoon and have a member card(I forget the exact times...1400-1600?).
