Why Do Tourists Pay 3 Times As Much If They Go Anywhere?

IMHO what we earn is relevant. One of the reasons we come here is because it is less expensive.

When you hear of falangs who have married Thai Women, have Children and Still get ripped off when taking the

Thai Family to places is beyond a joke. The Govnt is fixing this. But hey give a little with one hand and then take more by creating revenue spinners with the other. We are just walking ATM's and we are not wanted in this Country, except for our money. I accept that.

 

Thailand has so much to offer.

I suspect because of the pervasive attitude of everything is so cheap, I'll just pay double because I am good man

 

And maybe the I make 25 times more so charging 10 times no big deal. Probably can find lots of LDOP threads on here. One thing to pay to have a good time - another just because you make more should pay more.

3 times as much? I went to see a waterfall in Koh Chang a few years ago, B20 for Thais B400 for foreigners.

I know. P@#ses me off as well. Not much you can do about it though. I do have a small tactic I use though when it comes to buying things. If I see something I like (like a garden table last month) I'll send I Thai mate or the missus to go and enquire how much it costs. Then when I go and ask how much it costs and they tell me the inflated price I enquire why my mate said it costs less. Works 9 out of 10 times. Always do it in a joking manner mind.
