Burnley really do have a baptism of fire with Man Utd, Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool all in the first 5 games.

Arsenal play 4 games in Jan/Feb on consecutive weekends against Villa, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool.

What are your thoughts on the fixtures for your team ? please discuss.

I have never heard of it

& that fixture list aint worth a carrot ...Sky,the Police ,setanta & the european community have not had a say yet

Well looking at Spurs's fixtures first 6 games and last....

A difficult start with Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea.....As for the run in Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea in a row near the end... Not a good however we have to play them sometimes but would like them spread through out the year.

Here's a good Summer Silly Season (Sorry Transfer season).

Posted

A good start for my team "SUNDERLAND" away at bolton..........

Just hope the north east's top team can break into the top ten....... New manager and plenty of money to spend........

Man Utd for the title again me thinks........

Sadly, i think you are quite right. i wonder how many of the "hail the Rafalution" brigade would entrust their life savings to a man that has, so far bought NINETY players during his 4 year tenure at the club. And how many has he offloaded soon after (somemost at a substantial loss) How many more defenders does he have to buy before he gets ONE right??? 17 Million for a full back FFS????

I hope i am wrong, but i cant see us getting anywhere NEAR the EPL in 2010 or any time soon after. I think Rafa has taken the club as far as he can, and will be off at season 2010 end.....either going of his own accord, or fired.

We had the best chance last (this) season when the Arse went into meltdown, ManU and Chelski had major wobbles, but STILL came up short, due to a combination of bad team selections against "ham 'n' egger" teams that should have been put to the sword.....Stoke and Fulham at home are just 2 examples.

Yes, progress has been made, but from what point did it start being made from?????

Dosgy team selection, lack of confidence in blooding some of the youngsters he has bought or are coming through the ranks, and only a "desire not to lose" rather than a desire to win is always going to be his downfall.

One good thing is i reckon they were the best team in the Prem the last few games.....by a country mile too.

Even without Ronaldo, Man Utd should be odds-on favourites for the title. I think the top four will be the usual big four teams with Villa, Everton and possibly (dare I say it!) Spurs pushing to break into this group.

Arsenal should do OK but unless Wenger adds a 25-goal-a-season striker, orthodox winger and most importantly, a holding midfielder to his new buy from Ajax, Thomas Vermaelen, the Belgium international defender, I see another trophy-less season.

]Click here for details of Thomas Vermaelen's transfer ......

Don't know much about the Belgian but I'm hoping he'll be one of Wenger's gems........

Tevez will be sadly missed, He was a true professional, never complained . He will be a great asset to whoever buys him.. Hope he goes to Spain or Italy instead of going to Chelsea or City.. Benzema is a fantastic player, hope he can blend in quickly...

I have to disagree mate I think rafa has done a good job when he took over the club we were a mess. Now we have a team who is good as any in europe Rafas bought quiet a few players but hes also sold quite a few to it was a good move to sell keane when he did there was no sign he was going to cut it and hes 28 theres no way he would get that money back so 15 mill was the best he could get. If you look at rafas first five seasons compared to fergies well fergie spent twice what any other team in the league did and finished 11th,2nd,11th,13th and 6th rafas won a champions league and an fa cup in his time so far I think we need to give him a chance the owners dont help they are the mean problem. Last year we lost 2 games scored the must goals in the league and had a record points tally the reason we never won the league is because utd had the best side ever to come out of old traffard. Utd give fergie a chance and it paid off and fair play to them for doin it thats what we need to do give the fella a chance.

All ive got in this world are my word and my balls and i dont break them for nobody

Tevez was an asset to ManUre who simply took too long so sort out a deal for him. He took that as "disrespect". If they'd done it earlier, he'd still be a Manc. With the performances he put in last term, it won't be long before he's scoring goals elsewhere for a big club. I wish it was Arsenal but he's out of our pay-league. Benzema is a quality striker but can he fit into ManUre's line-up with the likes of Berbascum and Shrek? I have my doubts.

Re: Arsenal's games in Jan/Feb 2010, it always happens. My fear is that if we're having a run in Europe or one of the cups our squad (as it stands today) is still too thin. We're 2-3 players short of a proper squad at this level.

As for the Scouser's "Rafalution", I agree with Hedonist that 90 players during 4 years is too much.

£17 Million for Glen Johnson? Overpriced - as was the ill-fated Robbie Keane deal last year. Rafa's also gone on record as saying that the club has no big bucks to spend. With the current squad, I don't think Liverpool will be champs next term. It's Chelscum or ManUre and my money is on ManUre unless something big happens transfer-wise in the summer with the other Big Four clubs.

And fergie went on to dominate english and european football after spending money.rafa won the european cup with a squad built by houllier,he has spent more than fergie and has won an fa cup lol theres no point in comparing the 2 of them because rafa will not win half the trophys sir alex has won. liverpool will have another trophyless season this year and rafa will leave to go back to spain he just isnt Good enough for the premiership and he has showed that over his 5 years at liverpool.
