I have stayed at the Sandy Spring twice. Both times I have had an exceptional experience. Be sure to get the deluxe seaview room on a top floor. You will have a beautiful ocean view from your private balcony without the bar noise.

The reception staff are consistently friendly and courteous, and it helps to give them a tin of cookies when you go to Tops, or Big C. The hotel is hotel friendly, (couldn't help it dude, you know I mean girlfriendly!). ID at reception and you're good to go. No joiner fee.The pool is clean.

The location is very close to Beach Rd., and only a minute walk to grab the baht bus. Last trip I rented a dvd player for the Jap porn they sell on the street, and the cable tv has running hollywood movies 24/7. The only downside I can think of is that the room service menu is not that extensive, but it's less than a five minue walk to Lek and the buffet. Numerous great resturants within close walking distance.

I've stayed at Lek, Diamond Beach, Flipper, Eastiny, and a few others whose names I've forgotten, and the Sandy Spring is by far the best for location and price. Just my humble opinion.

Been very happy there on 5 occasions-everything cool especially location.

great staff, nice beds big rooms and great view from floor 5 up usually have room 509 great

Stayed in their sister hotel this spring-Summer Spring soi 1 fantastic-just the same as Sandy and a bit cheaper.

Soi 1 is a bit out of the way but really enjoyed stay-roof top swimming pool very nice.

Now spoilt for choice. :GoldenSmile1:

Great place to stay, girl friendly great views and the staff are tip top. I would recommend this to anyone.

if you want to be a rock star book the suite, huge bedroom and seperate lounge area. etc....

The soi is quiet and in the middle of everywhere.. right next to the sportsman for some great scoff.

Stayed there two times last year and was a good experience. 1st time I rented a suite, 2nd time a deluxe room with sea view.

Wifi was available, but there were some problems with general availabilty of it last year for a few days.

Very professional staff, great central location and it stays on my list of good places for me.

100 Meters to Beach Road and 100 Meters to 2nd Road, so going to WS by bus and coming back is very convenient and fast, but I would even consider it walking distance (10 - 15 mins if you walk slowly).

Personally I would stay away from the suites in future they are too expensive and I did not like it there. For me a plain standard room will be enough next time.

No problems to bring in girls, they did not insist on an ID check. Up to me.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have stayed there four times now. My last visit was in May 2009.

I like the place. Very close to all action but quiet at night as there are no bars next door.

Lovely big deluxe rooms with great seaview.

Very friendly staff.

No joiner fee.

Compared to others it is not very cheap I admit, but I prefer to stay there because of the great location, the quiet nights and the warm and friendly atmosphere.

Jimmy it was just a comment. About the rock star...

Why does everyone jump on everyones back on this site.

Good hotel but not stayed there for a couple of years, as I live up country. Nice and quiet and good location, just a stroll to the Sportsman.

Can anyone who has stayed there give a price range and info on making reservations there? Thanxs

Prices on the website are the prices in my experience - somewhat popular place so little discount that I have experienced.

You could follow this link but the price is the same as the SS website - though you do get a free beer. I have used Scandi bar's booking service before and it works well.

I wold recommend standard with balcony (pool view) or the Deluxe SeaView

I stayed there my last trip for my first night. I arrive at BKK around 730pm...

by the time I got to Patts...it was already 1000pm......too late to check into the hotel I had reserved for my trip

It was not too bad...you practically get what you pay for. It ran my THB 1,300 for a night......the hotel quality is AVERAGE!

I did not see any renovations going on while I was there...it can definitely use it. If you are looking for a place to put your

head down and wash your ass....then this will be a good hotel..... I give it a 6 on a 1-10 scale....

I would echo all the positives about the Sandy Spring and I've stayed there 8 to 10 times. Excellent location, nice clean place, nice staff, good value. I take a suite on the 8th floor and love the space and views it gives me. And the TGs like it too.

I stayed at Sandy Springs in 2006 on my first trip to Pattaya. It was nice but there is no in-room safe (at that time anyway). You had to use a safe deposit box behind reception. Also no wifi at that time but I think that may have changed now. In any case, I have found better priced options in the Soi Buakhao area - which is where I tend to stay now.

The big suites (with seaview!) are probably where I will stay, but,

are there elevators, or do you have to go up 8 floors of stairs?

No, you don't have to walk. You do have to press the buttons yourself though...

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

I have a confirmed reservation for Aug. 23, at 1600 baht per night. Very doable for me. I don't like room safes so the fact that they are not in the deluxe seaview is irrelevent to me. All my valuables go straight to the safe in reception or locked in my suitcase. I have not had a hassle ever with the reception staff who are always kind and attentive.

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)
      21st March - Playpen Soi 6
28th March - Night wish bar Soi 6
4th April - Toy Box bar Soi 6
      11th April - Repent Soi 6
18th April - where angels play Soi 6
25th April -  (next bar we have open)

2nd May - (next bar we have open)
      9th May - Cooters bar soi 6
16th May - Hot shots bar Soi 6
23rd May - (next bar we have open)
      30th of May - Lust soi 6
      6th of June - Illuzion
13th of June - (next bar we have open)

I look forward to meeting people again.
