TGF Visa application submitted

Hi,

 

My TGF submitted her visa application this morning to come on holiday to England. Does anyone know how long they usually take to give you an answer?

They are saying 4-6 weeks at the moment?

 

Has she had her text yet to say its been forwarded on to the embassy?

 

If the dates are near then they will do hers quicker.

Does the UK VFS have a track your passport option as the Australian office has?

 

Why is it taking so long now? In the past people have been getting them back after a week or so.

They had a notice up outside saying that due to such high numbers of applications, it is taking longer.

 

They estimate it 4-6 weeks.

 

Either they have cut down staffing, or more softcocks are emerging?

 

There is a reference number begining with GWF that you can use to track your application, or you can wait for the text messages.

When I last sbmitted one for the little lady last June it took 4-5 working days. This was for a tourist visa not a settlement visa.

 

As other guys have said you should get a tracking number hich you can track online.

Must have cut back on staff, this time last year I applied for my wifes tourist visa only took 3 days, now waiting for her settlement visa been nearly 2 & half months already and still no answer but they did say it will take 3 months

That's what I was told.. "4-6 weeks."

 

That can be the LONGEST WAIT!!!!

Cheers for the info, she had her text saying it was forwarded to the embassy on the 8th, so will have to wait and see now. Hope they hurry up as she is supposed to be coming at the end of July and I have not booked her flights yet as wanted to wait and see if she gets her visa.

Mate of mines missus took 11 days, that was last week. My tgf will be at embassy tomorrow morning, she hopefully will be coming to the UK as well. Anthony, have you looked at a flight for her yet? Expensive mate, believe me

Hi all,

 

Anyone know what the current wait time is for a 5yr family visitor visa.

 

My little lady submitted it on the 7th Sept, the online service says it has been forwarded to the British Embassy. I don't think we will have a problem as this will be her 4th visa, 2 x 6months & 1 x 2yr.

Not forgetting she can only spend 6 months out of 12 in the UK ?

 

Visa issued 6 months valid Jan 1 she must then spend a further 6 months in her host country, under the frequency of visits rule.

Cheers mate, I know the rules onstaying we only stay a 4-6 weeks during the year. The visa we applied for was so we did not have to keep going every year and so on.

 

I was after current processing time at the moment for family visitor visa's

Good luck I'm envious of you guys that can get holiday visas for friends from Thailand. Here in the US it's almost impossible to get a tourist visa for Thai's and extremely difficult and very slow for marriage and fiancee visas too.

I will answer my own original question of how long a 5yr family visit take to process. Visa submitted on the 7th Sept issued on the 10th Sept but only updated the website today & the little lady got the call, we are both very happy.

 

Absolutely no probs or hassles, can't believe no resubmitting visa applications every bloody year or so.
