China air is good with a good economy seat.

The airline belongs to Taiwan not China.

They have good prices but they sell out quickly.

My friends swear by it, especially since it is always the best deal out of LAX. But then I told them about my recent experience on Korean Air and they said "well, I guess China Air is not that great like that". heh.

Have flown them out of Vancouver, Canada on A340 airplane, and no complaints. Fairly comfortable seat, blankets were pretty soft, TV screen at every seat and decent movies. Food was ok (what airline food is ever great?). Of course, if you're very tall, you'll be uncomfortable. I'm 5'9" and that's about the limit of comfort for economy class I think. If you have their frequent flyer card, you can pick your seat 90 days in advance (I always try for an inboard aisle seat, as less movement noticed from maneouver of aircraft, and don't have to crawl over someone to take a leak). And yeah, great arrival time in BKK, 11:20 in the morning, and departure at 5:30 in the afternoon.

On a side note, if you take your own headphones (I have noise cancelling ones, and wouldn't ever fly again without them), make sure you have a double prong adapter as that is what China Airlines uses.

If you are taller than 5'6, it will be a miserable experience. I know this first hand. EVA is much better

China Airlines has a pretty decent flight schedule i think as it arrives at 6:40. Till you have your baggage some food and coffee its about 7:30 to 8:00 means you are at 10:00 in p-town. Superb time for having a nap in the late morning till noon and head into action afterwards.

Tip if you're hungry after landing or want some coffee:

If ye want to eat right after landing and bag pickup, take the elevator to the bottom floor. In about the middle of the building there is a Thai food court. You can purchase (must be paid in THB) coupons at the counter near entrance and pay your food with them, unused coupons can be refunded at the same counter after you finished. Superb Thai food at this place reasonable prices and an absolute hint, normally only the local workers from the airport eat there.

About the reviews, did some search on the net and most of the people rate em pretty good.

Check here: Klicky

And here: Klicky

See what airlines according to Skytrax is also 4* rated (compareable airlines) here: Klicky

They fly at this part of their network with a 747-400 check seatguru for their layout here: Klicky

Seatpitch is 32 inches on the 747-400. Dunno if they have the newer or old configuration on that plane, the newer should look a lil like the “Dreamliner Interior” and provide personal screens and such stuff.

Anyway mate have a good flight.

Great Airline, I have 152K miles with these guys, if you can get into the lounge the one in Teipie is one of the best! And they still serve free booze!

I AM FLYING ON THE 26th JUNE WITH CHINA FOR THE 1st TIME, ANYTHING IS BOUND TO BE BETTER THAN KLM, HATED THE FLIGHT LAST YEAR WITH THEM, SO CRAMPED. I AM GOING AMSTERDAM TO BBK WHICH IS 11 HRS, THIS IS BETTER I THINK AS NO HANGING ABOUT ABUDABI R DUBAI AIRPORT FOR A COUPLE OF HRS ON THE STOP OVER WITH ETIHAD R EMIRATES.

I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON HOW IT WENT IF YOU HAV'NT TO BOOK UR FLIGHT BEFORE 18TH JULY M8.

flown with them twice, (third time I changed to Singapore Airlines because of the trouble at suvarnabhuli last december) out of Amsterdam. Very happy with them, good connection to amsterdam for me (out of Belgium), good seats, free booze, great schedule, on time both times, but no personal dvdscreen. My mate has a gold card and I was allowed in to the lounge with them on two occasions (once in Amsterdam, once in Bangkok, got refused on two other occasions, must depend on how busy it is). Flying with Airberlin out of dusseldorf on friday, anyone used them?

Trust me, it's paradise. This is where the hungry come to feed.

For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven't tried before.

So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome.

Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it.

If you think KLM was cramped, just wait until you fly China Air. You don't know what cramped really is.

Thanks for all your info, sounds like they may be worth a try. Looking at a couple of weeks over xmas/new year with the fares coming in around the £650 mark, not sure if i will be able to find any cheaper if i leave it a month or so.

Usally fly with emirates but there wanting £1000 +

Thanks again

I flown China air many times LAX/TPA/BKK most times. Always have seat video screen with

a good selection of movies and a few video games. Only had 1 problem, when the Captian

forgot to fill the plane with fuel leaving BKK. Causing us to miss a connecting flight. They made

good on that by upgrades and extra air miles. Go to there web-site, sign up for dynasty fliers.

Good discounts and specials through them.

I have flown Chian Airlines several times out of LAX.

The airline is nothing special, food was very poor and service average.

The main factor for me was it was a cheap ticket and arrival time in LOS was at a good time.

I knew what I was getting and was happy with what I paid.

i'm taking China Airlines as well, but i never traveled with commercial flight before (only with army) ...

So i'm not going to complain about comforts, definately not because of the cheap prices.
