I had hoped the speed issue would have been a priority, but it's still slow and, for myself, a little off-putting - it's like being back in the days of dial-up. Otherwise, the site is a bit bright and hard on the eyes - maybe I'll start wearing sunglasses to access !

If you run Apache, i suggest switching over to lighttpd...

 

Not the techie so I am not 100% sure what you mean by requests. It gets around 80,000 page views per day so if you mean file requests I guess a lot more depending whats on each page.
