I generated my Thailand Digital Arrival Card using the THiM app. However, I've seen several people mention that the app won't be fully functional until October.

I'm now wondering whether the arrival card generated through THiM is still valid, or if I should submit it again through the TDAC website instead.

Has anyone recently entered Thailand using the THiM app-generated arrival card? Was it accepted without any issues?

I used the THIM app but not without difficulty. Unable to read the chip in my passport, had to photograph the passport page 3 times before it was accepted. It kept asking for a selfie, not convinced it ever was successful. Eventually I reached the stage of health declaration and was notified this is to be completed 3 days before arrival. Will try on Friday morning.

If it fails I will apply through TDAC.

I arrived yesterday on my Aussie passport.

Short answer is you can use either no problem.

I had downloaded the Thim app. It works fine accepting all the info required same as TDAC which I had used earlier this year for a previous Thai trip without issue both on visa exemption entry.

THIM has an extra optional feature allowing you to create a profile for you that it saves for future trips allowing you to download your passport photo page details via THIM’s digital scan ( easy) and depending on whether you know where your passport ‘ chip’ is ie which page ie some passports have the chip inbuilt on front page, some on the picture data page and some on back page or inside cover of back page. This depends on how old your passport is. For example if you have a newer Aussie pasdport dated after June 2022 the R series, first letter of your passport, scanning the chip should be simple.

You may be successful in having it find the ‘chip’ and save you time in future entries when you hand your passport over. Mine bombed out using iphone16 maxpro as it couldnt find the Chip. What this does it state on your profile that your data as per the chip has been verified ie for this and future entries.

THIM also allows you to create extra profiles for family members where relevant ( I assume for young children travelling with you).

I am here for 42 days and got in before the 15 day post gazettal pending reduction back to 30 days no problem

As above you can fill out your travel info outside 3 days in THIM, it will save the info but prompts you 72 hrs before your travel date to finalise your arrival info by filling out your health declaration question ie where have you travelled in the last i think 14 or so days ( worried about Africa Ebola) bwhich can only be filled in within 72 hrs ie 3 days of your trip

Used THIM on my mobile and have the QR code to show Immigration when we arrive tomorrow. I entered all the details a couple of weeks ago and got the reminder 72 hours out to complete the health declaration which once done generates the QR code.

I know a couple of people who have just used the THIM app and had no problems at all at Immigration.

I tried setting up the Thim app., took ~20 goes to try to read my passport chip (not sure if it did in the end).

I messed up my mobile number (forgot the area code), now there’s no possible way to change it (that I can find).

The app seems unfinished.

If it read your passport chip it should now show "NFC verified".

Go through the official TDAC website rather than THiM. The app has been unreliable at various entry points and QR codes generated through it have not always scanned clean at immigration, I've seen members here report delays at Suvarnabhumi as recently as June. Fill it in a day or two before you fly, save the confirmation screenshot offline, and you'll avoid any of that friction.

TDAC as this is the first time I even heard of the other one.

A few weeks ago I successfully completed the THIM app albeit with the same difficulties many have outlined. I noticed this morning that the app has changed my country of residence to Scotland and nationality to Scottish. I live in England and the app previously showed that and/or British. App last updated 3 days ago, not sure if that's when it changed.

My next trip is in September so think I'll be reverting to the TDAC as not sure if bugs like this would cause problems at Immigration.

Anyone else had this?

I went with THIM, and it was relatively straightforward, although getting my passport info in was a bit of a pain all things considered. I was somewhat irritated that when you enter your accommodation, you select "Hotel" and are then presented with only a single address field where you (I presume) just enter the whole address including the hotel name.

Seems to be more difficult & time-consuming than just using the TDAC website, per most of the replies on here

The app definitely seemed to take longer, but I did it and it appears to have worked so hopefully it saves time next trip.

Thim is great for me. Second trip is a breeze after you create a profile. Fast and easy. Sends a reminder 3 days out to tell them where you’ve been in the last 14 days.

Me too, it’s changed my nationality to Scottish!

No way to correct it, or update phone number.

Its change mine too. I'll have to put a Mc in front of my surname! It seems the only way to change it is to create a new profile. I'm not travelling until October so will wait and hope they get rid of some of the bugs in the app

Haven't used THIM yet. It's sheduled to be mandatory starting August 1st. Since there's still LOTS of people arriving in TH who seem to never even have heard of TDAC, I can only imagine what will happen with THIM...

Yes initially it takes more time to set up, but it keeps your details stored, so you don't need to repeat input of basic data (name, passport, country of residence... ). So if you travel inbound to TH lots, it will end up saving a few minutes. If you stay in TH long term, it is supposed to help with doing 90 day reporting, getting online queue appointment for immigration services, etc.
Some people have mentioned on various forums that there is not clear details on privacy (no statement that it will not mine other data that have nothing to do with immigration) and it does state that it will relay (unspecified) data to (unspecified) 3rd parties.
But there is no opting out of using it, so ...

As for nationality Scottish vs British and if you live in London vs Edinburgh, I would not think it matters much to the IOs as the passport is the same.
