For family fun there’s a waterpark there you can do. ATV rides should be fun and muddy.

If you manage to avoid the rain then there’s a couple waterfalls that should have some good water flowing through them at this time of year.

My favourite restaurant on Koh Chang is El Barrio at Kai Bae, great Mexican food, Chill Out at The Chill Hotel is also good.

I really enjoyed Mr. Khai's snorkeling/boat tour down to Ko Rang. Day trip. Fun boat, great food.

Getting there from Pattaya, the minivan services that run door-to-door to the ferry pier at Laem Ngop are the easiest option, total time around 4 to 5 hours. I'd pick Klong Prao over White Sand Beach: fewer package tourists and the beach itself is longer and less built-up. July is wet season so expect afternoon rain most days, the sea can get rough on some days. The snorkeling around Koh Wai to the south of the island is worth a day trip when the weather cooperates.
