Dental implant recommendation

Featured Replies

I'm traveling to Thailand shortly for 5 months in Southeast Asia. I'm going to begin with 2 months in Pattaya and then travel to Cambodia and Vietnam and return in Mid-November for a month in Pattaya or Bangkok.

I want to get a dental implant to replace a tooth I had removed last year while I was in Thailand. I was not particularly happy with the cleaning that I had at the dentist on soi bukhao so I don't want to return to them. I am not looking for the cheapest rate at all and am willing to pay for quality. Any recommendation would be appreciated.

I plan to get a implant in mid November allowing almost a month for some healing and treatment if there's a problem. Then I'll return to Thailand 6 months later to get the cap. Since I really don't like High season I think it would be best at the end of my trip to have the procedure since drinking and eating will not be a high priority. Cloistering myself for a week or two in my hotel is no problem and then spend a week or two just relaxing by the pool.

Dr Warin on Pattaya Klang is acknowledged best in Pattaya

Formerly the work partner of Dr Cherry (Dentist beach in Central Festival)

You need to email or ring at earliest opportunity because he's extremely busy always.

He;s the absolute dogs bollacks and speaks fluent English

If you google his email comes up...if you cant see it I will dig it out for you.

Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic  isa big clinic in Bangkok, with a farang clientele.

See web site for more details and for sample prices.

You can get a cost estimate for treatment via the site.

Unfortunately he rarely checks email and has not replied to any emails I sent over the past few years! Calling is a bit of a lottery too as he does not have a receptionist and so the nurses only answer the phone when they are not in the dental surgery room. I have found the best way is the call in person to make an appointment. The average wait seems to be about 3 weeks for non urgent cases.

He is excellent, probably the cheapest, but his equipment is a bit on the old side, so he relies more on his skill than other dentists. I have had implants by 3 dentists in Pattaya including by Dr Cherry and he is the best, but just don't expect state of the art equipment.

I should add that an appointment time means nothing, I have waited well more than one hour after my appointment time, but he is excellent and good value.

I've used them.

They are extremely good - amongst the best, if not the best in Thailand.

Also very pricey.

Communication via email often takes days and appointments have to be booked well in advance. Once you have an appointment though they are rock solid.

One thing about implants though are they are not mix'n'match. Choose the implant manufacturer carefully and keep records as orthodontists will typically only work on brands they typically use in their practice day to day.

Tried to find this dr/clinic on google.....

Best "match I could come up with is

Dental Care Center on Pattaya Klang just west of 3rd road on South side.  Is this the place?

I’m about halfway through a single tooth implant with Ocean Dental Center, around the corner from immigration on Jomtien Second Road. I had a painless extraction and implant and we’re waiting until August for the mold to be taken and a new “tooth” to be made. So far, so good.

When I needed dental work I did some research and three dentists came up. Two of them are already mentioned above, Dr Warin and the German dentist Dr Ramin. I didn't use Dr Warin simply because he was to busy and couldn't fit me in, and didn't use Dr Ramin cos I thought he was to far away in Jomtien, though looking at the link above seems I was wrong about that unless he's moved since.

I ended up going with the third one, Dr Cherry, though I think she's a different Dr Cherry to the one mentioned further up in this thread as the one I use works in Dental Smile, see link below.

I believe she works in one of the hospitals as well so divides her time between the dental practice and the hospital.

Since I first used her several years ago I've been back quite a lot since and had everything from root canals, crowns, veneers, and most recently an implant. Always been very happy with her work which is why I keep going back.

A mate is currently halfway through having 2 or 3 implants done, he also needs bone restructuring as his front teeth were a bit of a mess. He seems happy so far. If you decide to try that one just make sure you ask specifically for Dr Cherry as they have other dentists there as well. They might be good also but I stick with the one I know as she was the reason I went there in the first place.

A little over 30 it’s the extraction and bone graft.

Yes mine needed needed some bone graft work also....took nearly 7 months for it to harden properly...excellent job done eventually and as I quoted earlier just 20k baht inclusive.

Lived here 13 years and if there is a better baht for baht Dentist than Warin I have yet to hear....no fancy Reception area,no free tea or coffee just first class work at an excellent price.
