They would check with the airport and put an alert out if his name enters the system, then the airport would contact the cops on duty there.

This is absolutely and atrociously devastating on so many levels !! 

My heart goes out to the devastation the Family must Feel 

Here in Australia they're now labelling all Australians who go there as Sex Tourist and with underage Girls !

Pattaya has so much more to offer including World Class Golf Resorts and many Serene and Beautiful SaWats'.

One idiot on CH 10 said Australians can live there on $200 pw !! Of Course News Media sensationalise what they can-To Hell with our Reputation as long as they can throw all aussies' that go there under the same bus because of this particular MORON and his sadistic behaviour !

And this was carried out over this pr..k over a 500 Bht disagreement that it implemented.

I personally hope they eloctrcute him via his scrotum !!

Her friends knew she went with him and never returned and reported her missing along with alerting her family who also reported it. Maybe they take a minor going missing more seriously or maybe the friends/family got lucky and the person in charge with the police takes their job seriously enough to catch him in time using CCTV.

I just seen this story on BBC news yesterday, and on my Facebook feed today from two different sources.

Very shocking and sad. 

I presume her Thai ID card was left at the front desk. RIP young lady.

I presume not. If that was the case the hotel staff would have flagged her as underage before he even took her to his room. And that might have saved her life.

I think he was staying in a condo in any case.

For all those that say he will get the death penalty or locked up forever.

Is it any different to similar cases over the years?

Shane Looker comes to mind, who murdered a Nana Plaza bar girl, chopped her up, and dumped her body, then went on the run.

Once caught and extradited back to Thailand, he got 8 years, and had to make a payment of 12,000,000 baht to the family.

I don't know Jomtien very well, but it keeps getting reported that he lived on the 15th floor of Jomtien Condominiums.

In a hotel if you just walk past and ignore security, in my experience about 90% of the time they won't stop you and ask for the girls ID.

And in the last 5 years all the condo's Iv'e lived in, Iv'e never ever been stopped by security when I'm with a girl.

And that's probably because in general security would almost never have any major problems with all the girls coming and going.

Australian media reporting that there are 2 more similar unsolved cases - bodies found in suitcases in Chonburi and Rayong - no link yet to this suspect but ......

I wonder if he will be a target in prison due to the high profile nature of his crime. I recall a British guy died while imprisoned for beating his Thai wife to death a few years back. Somehow, he "fell" from an outbuilding inside the prison complex.

In any case, I doubt many tears will be shed if this piece of human excrement meets a gruesome end.

2 possible approaches or a combination of both.  

Her friend reports her missing. The cops asks for her photo which the friend will pull out from her social media account for an appropriate photo. They will match with their automated CCTV. The system will follow her which they clearly did . 

The second is cell tower ping location of her telephone number. 

It is interesting that the CCTV lost him for 20 minutes and it is likely a rural area so not enough CCTV coverage. So the cell ping must have been used as they found the bag in heavy undergrowth. And you could not have not seen it in the dark. If I not wrong ping will be accurate up to 6 metres. 

This clown left his passport in his apartment when he left for the airport. So he could not have cleared customs and the stop notice would not activate. They must have used CCTV and tracked him within the airport premises. 

By the way the girl had false ID indicating that she is 22 when she is only 17. Good reminder to take girls from the bar where owners personally check ID to avoid the monkey house. 

The UK copper who murdered the girl where the body was found by following CCTV and then switching to cell tower ping. The body was hidden in a wooded area.

Did he forget his passport? I didn't know that. This guy...I mean that speech of his to the family..I know you are hurting, same same me...ffs he deserves stringing up for that alone!

What a grim and tragic affair. I know the press are all over this but ultimately, nasty stuff like this happens very regularly all over the world, in Aussie, in the UK, the USA etc. Nothing to do expressly with Thailand and the guys who frequent it, there's just absolute nasty wronguns everywhere.
