Upcoming Forum Upgrade

Featured Replies

All

In the next day or two there will be an upgrade of the Invision Community happening.

This is a major upgrade. Last time we had an upgrade of this size , we had serious issues with the forum for an extended period of time.

If/when it goes to shit please be patient and post any issues you may have in this thread and we will try to get things rectified as fast as possible.

Please be aware that many of the problems will be things that we cannot fix and we will need to wait for Invision to provide solutions.

Peace out and fingers crossed.

Can't you wait until Royal Ascot is over  , ( on behalf of all on the Nags Head thread  )

The Forum update will take place at 10 AM Saturday Thai Time. The Forum may be unavailable for some time and you all may expect to see some changes.

It would be a good idea for BMs to ensure your passwords are remembered and failing that, your emails are current in case you are required to log back in.

Does this have something to do with the red "software update" banner on the top that I hit 'x' on?  If so should I have selected it?

I have not noticed any issues, so it either went very smoothly or

it was not completed as scheduled.

Any updates for us BM's?

I have not really noticed any changes, however maybe it is behind the scenes.

We decided to use Bangkok Addicts as the test to see how it goes, if you have an account there go have a look.

Finally dark mode on BA 👏

But the condensed view on the new version for topics is still to big, make it takes slightly longer time getting an overview of new posts, maybe not that big issue on BA that isn't that active, but important for PA.

Also missing the "View new content" button, it's hidden behind a couple of clicks.

Please note that a major upgrade to the forum software will start at 10am (Thailand time) on Saturday 20th June.

The forum is likely to be unavailable for 48 hours and there may be issues to deal with afterwards.

Please be patient.

If size doesn't matter, why aren't there any four inch dildos ?

I believe when you click on the "X" to hide the banner, it only does so for seven days. @davidge or one of the other mods will have to remove the banner so it doesn't reappear after the timeout period ends.

It will be removed but the upgrade wasn’t done when we were told it would be as BA was done first.

AFAIK, it hasn’t been done yet.

and I was thinking how smoothless the update was, with no issues at all  :)

I think you mean to say 'smooth', or 'faultless', not 'smoothless'. 555

Are we required to change our passwords now per the red banner?

Most important to keep you email address current and remember your password just in case.

AFAIK you don’t need to. It’s an old Announcement. If I’m wrong then I’m happy to be corrected.

I obediently changed my password.  I seek and obey. 🤣

My girl is "different". A different one everyday.

The other week, I cleaned out my laptop, cookies and cache etc.

And I was forced to change my password again.

At least this time, my email address was correct 🙂

Not terribly related to the topic, but it's advisable for everyone to use a good password manager.

I use bitwarden (free), but there are several other options. It's made my online life so much easier over the years.

You definitely didn’t need to change passwords if you’d done it since that announcement went up over two years ago!

One thing, I understand that after the upgrade we will have to use our emails to login rather than our usernames so it really is important that your email is up-to-date and that you remember your password.

@davidge Thanks for that heads-up about having to use our emails instead of usernames after the upgrade. As a long-time lurker who only recently started posting, my account is pretty old and I honestly couldn't remember which email I used to register years ago.

Just went into my settings to double-check and make sure everything is current. That tip definitely saved me from getting locked out. Appreciate the warning!
