Im almost certain, you get 1 days grace,

i have overstayed 1 day before by accident, no issue when leaving

I have a Problem..... I just can't decide if its a good problem or a bad problem...

I think this can be up to each individual immigration officer. Best to follow the law (which sounds like @james 71 is doing):

Per Thai Embassy Website-

No Grace Period Exists

Thailand enforces strict immigration RULES with no automatic grace period beyond the entry stamp date in your passport. You must depart before midnight on the stamped expiration date, or you'll enter an overstay period starting the next day.

Overstay Penalties

Overstaying incurs a fine of 500 THB per day (capped at 20,000 THB), payable upon exit. Immigration checks passports at departure; short overstays (under 90 days) usually result just in fines, but longer ones can lead to detention or re-entry bans.

Extensions Available

Instead of risking overstay, apply for a 30-day extension (1,900 THB) at a local immigration office before the stamp expires—valid for visa-exempt entries or tourist visas. Visa-exempt stays (e.g., 60 days for many nationalities) can also be extended once. Always confirm your stamp counts arrival day as day one.

You leave Thailand when they stamp your passport.

I would get to the airport when the check-in first opens, which is 4 hours for some, and then go straight through immigration.  Arriving with your bags just one hour before your visa expires is all a bit tight or at the least stressful, as there could be a wait to drop them off.

If check-in does only open 3 hours before, I'd want to be at the very front of the line........

You clear immigration before security, but its taken me over 30 mins to get through for me in the past.

Sure no physical stamp. Its biometric.  its all computerized.  The computer will not open the gates if you are overstayed.
