Baan Tah on the Sea. Bang Saray

Just checked in to this hotel for 3 nights. Like many places outside of the tourist areas English is only just understood.

Smooth check in, discount voucher for meals if used in the cafe and bubble bath for the balcony tub.

The suite room is a good size and well maintained.  Bathroom looks good.  The room is on the second floor although other suites are on ground.

I’ll come back to this post after I go exploring a bit

So farm so good  Except the previous guest stole 2 of the 4 safe batteries… who does that?  

Still waiting on new ones.  Reasonable chance I will be buying them myself

Pro tip. Send your Thai girlfriend to reception.  Instant batteries.

Close to everything you need 

Last night we walked to a nice seafood restaurant (Aow Talay Seafood)  over the water. It was very quiet with only maybe 4 groups. Good food and service.  

Walked up to “Corner Bar” again not far away and played pool with a few expat locals over a beverage or two. Had a lot of fun and was welcomed into their “winner stays on” game.  I think the game was a bit more lively than they are used to.  Nice people  

This morning a walk to the 7/11 to stock up on essential and non essential supplies along with some street cart concoction.  Dropped off the laundry nearby. All good.

The location is fine for pretty much everything.  Some of the distances may tax a thai lady’s mental walking distance but the reality they are fine.   Traffic is not too busy.  Easy to get around.

If you like seafood, try Ruan Talay, same street you are in, opposite direction, South, quite close, I think better food and nice ambience. You see the same big boat on the dry that you see from your window, but from the other side....

Thanks for this. We went last night.   Didn’t have a lot to eat but really liked the restaurant.  It looks better than the other one
