Hilton Pattaya - King Executive Premium Ocean Front

I generally prefer modest 3 or 4 star accommodation, but on my current trip I left the accommodation booking a bit late, so I've had to hop around a bit. This gave me the opportunity to throw in a night at the Hilton, so I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about.

On the basis of "in for a penny, in for a pound" opted for the King Executive Premier Ocean Front. At £300 that's 4 times what I normally pay for a nice room around Soi Buakhao, but this was a one-off treat for 1 night, so what the heck

Was lucky to get onto the 33rd floor, that's the highest possible for a room, only the rooftop bar on 34 is higher. Situated on the beach end of the building, the room in on the north side, so a 180 degree view of the whole beach, but easier to see the north side

Yes, it was a wow factor, and no regrets. But also it wasn't perfect

Positives

- Excellent, large room. Huge bed in the middle, desk, sofa, walk-in wardrobe, large bathroom, large balcony with additional sofa and hot tub

- Fantastic view of the beach and surrounding areas. Very impressive day and night

- Use of Executive lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktail hour

- Great treatment by staff, premium check in lounge etc

Negatives

- Noise from outside. Because the balcony door is a sliding mechanism, it does not close and seal shut like a window would. When closed, there is a small gap covered only with a brush type material, so some sound still comes in. Could clearly hear music at night, but fortunately the music stopped at 11pm

- Aircon is not up to the job. Choose lowest setting of 20 and High fan setting, but the room temp doesn't reach 20 and it feels muggy and not cool enough in the daytime. Shutting the curtains helps, but then you lose the view

- Location, I did miss a little the convenience of walking straight out onto Soi Buakhao

Overall, it was worth it but I probably won't repeat. Or I might try a smaller, less premium room, which would probably be quieter, cooler and of course cheaper

On the plus side, I got to tick something off which has been on my bucket list for a long time - sex in a hot tub 😀

They said breakfast in the lounge is much less good than in  the restaurant Where all the other guests  eats, is that true?

Yes I believe so. I only had breakfast in the lounge, because I needed to save time and it was on the same floor as my room. Upside is that it is a large, exclusive area - only half a dozen tables occupied at peak breakfast time. Felt spacious and exclusive. Indoor and outdoor balcony areas. Not a huge choice of food, but having said that I got the "full English" and very nice it was too. I can imagine that main breakfast area has a lot more choices, but then again it will be a lot more people too. Think I prefer the more intimate, quieter lounge option

This room is my dream to try for one night, for some big celebration, just for that balcony tub.  Thank you for the review!

Did you have the glass door open a lot?

I think the a/c shuts off whenever it is open, and that can cause the room to heat up.

i have been upgraded to this room a few times, and really liked it.  Hot tub was a little overrated IMO, but that may be because I wrecked my back trying to get OUT of it!  5555

Views looking out over the water from the desk certainly took some of the sting out of having to work in Pattaya.

As much as I liked it, I doubt that I would pay the going rate for it.

Anecdotally it’s big enough for 3 people.

It’s more spacious than it looks in pictures.

Now you mention it, you're right about the sliding glass door. I now remember a/c was flashing "d/r" and I phoned reception and they said it means a/c due to "door" being open. (Yet it was only open 1cm). Shut it fully and a/c better

Unfortunately I have no status on Hilton so had to fork out. Worth it to scratch the itch

Yeah it's huge, 3 or 4 people could fit. Ironically it being so big means a bit restrictive in terms of sex positons! Because you're sliding around and difficult to get leverage/ somewhere to grab and stop sliding around. Cowgirl was best, but eventually moved to bed to be more comfortable 555

Usually true of all executive lounges as space is a premium so less choices. They however carry the best of portion of the bigger restaurants" offering. But you get personal attention and I like that I can access the lounge for snacks and drinks anytime of the day and do some work in a quiet location.

Definitely appreciate this 2026 review!

@David66 or anyone else... Would you return to Hilton again?

ANY difficulty with "guests"?

No difficulty at all with guests, no need to announce or register. Got treated well at the rooftop bar, due to being a resident. Overall good experience

But personally I would not return, I just wanted to scratch the itch. I don't need this level of luxury. I'm happy in a decent 3 or 4 star place, and I prefer to be in the heart of things around Soi Buakhao

I've been doing a lot more reading in the hotels section and in the Newbie section and have learned that Hilton is "joiner" friendly and there is an option to go through Central Mall and bypass the Concierge Desk...

YES - The knowledgeable folk will say "told ya so newb - ask when you DONT find the answers by reading!" 😉

For anyone with Hilton status (gold not diamond), how likely is it to be upgraded to this room? Thinking of booking either the standard room versus splurging for the executive premium seafront. Is the regular room even worth it?

I guess the other alternative is the Melia which is miles cheaper.

I wouldn't count on an upgrade.  It will depend largely on how long you are staying and how fully booked they are.

I'm Diamond and have been upgraded to it a few times, but I'd say less than 40% of the time.  Maybe 25-30%?

Also, Diamond is so easy to hit (just get an AMEX Aspire card) that they will likely have a boatload of Diamond guests who have priority on the upgrade over you.

I have stayed at the Hilton a shitload of times.  On my last trip, the Thai girl checking me in said it was my 48th stay there.  That seemed too high to me, but I had a couple of trips where I was in and out, so they would be multiple stays.

Thanks! Is the Hilton still your go to especially with that many stays or do you typically stay at a different property these days?

I usually split between Bangkok, the Hitlon, and the InterContinental in Phra Tamnak.

I find the Hitlon incredibly convenient, with the mall attached to it and easy access to 2nd Road and Beach Road.

Zero, as long as they are 20 and older.

Last trip I bar fined the triplets from Shark and did dinner on the roof top. I promised #2 on a previous trip I would take her and her sisters out for dinner at the roof top.

Dinner was good, as a lifetime diamond you get 25% off all food and beverages and happy hour special is buy one drink and get one free. All 4 of us with drinks was about 8K baht.

Lots of looks from the other patrons as you can imagine with triplets and my ass at a table together.

I booked the executive ocean suite as well. My buddy @Fufu308 helped me buy and stock the room with Thai girl specials for the after dinner hang out.

It was a fun evening, the girls were a blast to hang out with, and the hotel is always great.

I used some of my million plus Hilton points to book the room, so all free on that side.

I have had 19 year olds accompany me into a room at the Pattaya Hilton without a problem. My ex at a couple of years ago was 18, she used to check in there all the time without an issue. Even brought home a 19 year old with her for a threesome. Looked great in the spa on balcony overlooking beach

I had many trips with 19 year old guests without incident....but there was a crackdown a few years ago, and they cockblocked me on a 19 year old.  I was pissed!

I think the Thai government was trying to enforce it at that time, and I haven't had any issues since.

These days, the security guys just say "hello Mr. L2P!" when I walk back in with a girl without asking for ID.  I'm sure others' mileage may vary, but I can't recall the last time I was asked to have my guest leave her ID.

I have brought well over 100 girls into Hilton without them ever asking for ID. But I haven't stayed there in almost a year. Sometimes the girl will go to the front desk voluntarily. The stack of IDs there is hilariously large btw. Clearly many people do it because they want to or don't realize it's optional.

Hilton is the only place in Thailand I ever had an issue. It was the downstairs bell desk that was the problem. I’ve never checked a girl in at the lobby desk.

It was enough of an issue on their part in how they dealt with it that I was credited for a full night’s points because of it.

Outside of that, no issues.
