Beach Rd bars between Soi 7 and 9, grab a front rail chair and just watch as Pattaya go by and the sun sets.

After multiple trips to Pattaya I finally tried Tahitian Queen on Beach Road in the afternoon.

Daytime GoGo playing mostly 70's music at a reasonable volume. Plenty of available girls and reasonable prices. Will definitely revisit next trip.

And of course there's always Soi Bongkot 8 various G.C.'s

Exercise? It's a nice cool afternoon for a brisk walk or a dip in the ocean 

The beach bars suggestion is spot on. I've been doing sunset walks along Beach Road, it's actually really nice that time of day. Less hot, good people watching. If you're near Avenue, there's plenty of stuff on Soi Buakhao to kill time too. Grab a beer somewhere and just take it easy before the evening kicks off. Enjoy!

Quick question for the regulars or expats living near Soi Bongkot. When I stayed around there in April, I ended up using Bolt and Grab a lot to get to LK Metro or the beach, since the standard Baht buses don't really run deep into Bongkot.

Are Bolt/Grab drivers still easily available deep into the night around Bongkot, or is it getting harder to catch a ride? Want to know if I should just rent a motorbike for my October trip instead.

Just use your phone to order a motorbike on Bolt, be there in 2 or 3 mins. Watch out for young guy, no helmet. Drives like moto GP.

Just spent a pleasant few hours at the bars between Soi8 and the police station, watching the world go by and the sunset. Nothing raunchy, just cool chat with a couple of ladies, watching the sun go down and the police pulling over the bikes for no documents - how much fun can one guy have!! 🍺 😎

Sanctuary of Truth is worth the 500 baht entry for the late afternoon walk around the grounds, especially around 4-5pm when the light is better and the crowds thin out. Jomtien Beach is quieter than Pattaya Beach if you want to sit somewhere that does not feel like a street market. For early evening, the beer bars on Soi Buakhao open from around 4pm, low-key and no pressure, good for easing into the night. Walking Street gets going properly from about 9-10pm if that is the direction you are heading.

Thanks @golfnutz. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for those helmet-less racer boys on Bolt this October! It still beats dealing with the local taxi mafia or renting a bike yourself though.

And to chime back into the main topic: those afternoon beach road bars or a slow wander down Soi Buakhao around 5 PM are definitely my go-to routines as well. Pattaya is just great at that time of day when it starts to cool down a bit.
