Stayed for four nights last month. I am a platinum member and got a accor plus discount rate of 2500 baht a night. That worked out to around 14000 accor points for the stay. A nice deal. Considering the Mercure was also going for a similar price.

 

I had qualms about booking this hotel because Pullmans have been a hit and miss for me. Loved the Arcadia Naithon in Phuket. The ones in Da Nang and Bali were so-so. There is no standard experience across properties. Da Nang and Bali were actually disappointing. I had stayed in better maintained 3 star properties.

 

Was also afraid of the joiners policy. But didn't have any problem during my stay. They register joiners and don't charge any fees. You can also directly go to the elevators as the entrance is huge and there is ample opportunity to sneak right in. I had confirmed on email and they said they would charge 1500 THB. So was pleasantly surprised when they didn't. I tried to sneak in every time but one night at 4 am the guard basically forced us to the desk. When he heard my protestations he told me don't worry it is free 😂 

 

The rooms were sufficient in size. I booked a base room and was given a sea view room. I was hoping for a suite upgrade - but oh well. 

 

- The Air Conditioning was a mess. I set it on 18 but it was maybe 23 at best. Used to be a sweaty mess every time I took a hot shower

- the master light switch was a nice touch. As well as the standard make up/dnd buttons

- two elevators for a very big hotel. Sometimes there was a bit of a wait

- coffee pod machine! My love. Cleaning staff outside all day. So instant cleaning, instant water all day. Unlimited tea and coffee. Perks of a "5 star". Hilton circle jerkers just stfu and let me have fun. 😂 

- the views from my balcony and the pool below plus the beach lounge/restaurant were amazing. 2500 baht a night for this? Fuck me. That's a two shot racks worth. 

- I tried the breakfast and afternoon/evening food at the lounge every day. Ordered room service just once. A seafood pizza. All of it was either okay to delicious. Most of the food I had was buffet style. I hate buffets except the live service counters. Cold food made in large quantities is never the best. But it was more than acceptable. 

- transport to and fro was never an issue. Around a 20 minute bolt taxi to central pattaya. Cost usually anywhere between 50 to 70 baht. Bikes would have been lesser for those more adventurous.

 

- there was a tops and coin laundry almost right outside the hotel gate. 

- the gym was very very expansive. Had all sorts of equipment. Unfortunately the treadmill was a little smaller than what I am used to. Bit disappointing. The equipment was also showing its age. Still with the amount of choices here it was more than acceptable.

 

- they had a free hourly shuttle to dolphin terminal. Didn't end up using it.

- has a nice long chat with the fnb director at their coffee shop. A young German guy who I may or may not have invited to soi 6.

- the shower was immense. Unbelievable volume, efficiency and perfect temperature. I must have spent hours in there.

- clientele mostly families. An almost even spread of east asian, east European, indians, Chinese and your average falangs. Almost all of them well behaved. Yes a little noise in the common areas. But nothing too dramatic imho. Being an Indian I am used to much worse. As long as people are not invading common spaces and treating the staff unkindly/creepily I usually have no issues walking around with my noise cancelling earphones. 

- One of the nicer hotels I have stayed in. Pound for pound it might be the best value I have ever had on my hotel spending/redemptions

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a quiet and nice resort not too far away from the daily madness of the city we all love. 

 

 

Thanks for the review. I'm a Platinum Explorer+ member and have looked at the Pullman several times, but have never stayed there. I needed a hotel for two nights at the last minute for this trip, but ended up booking the Mercure Ocean Resort based on location, and that I could use one of my Stay Plus nights. I got two nights for a total of THB 2,000, including an upgrade to a suite. 

The Mercure is much better than I expected. The staff have all been very friendly and professional. The suite is a genuine suite with a separate seating and dining area. The bed is not quite Avani standard, more in line with Hilton, but very comfortable. Breakfast is above average.

Singapore Pullman Hill Street is the best Pullman I have stayed in, and I've booked again for next month. The Executive Lounge at Pullman Kuala Lumpur is exceptional, although the hotel is poorly managed, and the staff outside the lounge are very hit and miss. I'm booked for the Pullman Kuala Lumpur next month also, but wouldn't recommend it without the Executive Lounge.

Had Christmas Eve dinner there with my parents and saw the best sunset I have ever seen from that hotel.
