The 4 times I have been to Pattaya have always been murder because every bed I been in is as hard as a rock. For the first four days there is spent swallowing aspirin because my back is killing me. Does any place have beds that are up to western standards? Don't get me wrong the mattress does not need to be super soft just a medium firmness as you average run of the mill mattress found in the States.

I stayed in the Marriot once, and the bed I had was much closer to western standard than the normal, crappy Thai hotel bed. I would say this is the only time I ever had a really comfortable bed in Pattaya - this was at least 4 years ago though, so things may have changed.

However, I cannot recommend the Marriot in general, because the price was just stupid. But pretty much every other bed I've slept on has just been a varying degree of uncomfortable. Doesn't really bother me that much, so not worth the price to me. I suspect you will have to move up to a higher priced hotel to get a nice bed though.

I agree. Man I have had some back aches. Some places pay attention to a quality mattress. I need a good mattress too, and so that was one of the most important thing I thought of when decorating my condos.
