Can anyone tell me how to get to Mae Rumphung beach from Pattaya by bus. Where is the  bus station/ stop in Pattaya to Rayong, I understand you get songthaew from Rayong bus station to the beach

Out of curiosity I checked the Bolt app ..priced from approx 500 to 700 baht ,depending on what car you select ( one way ) ..it's 62 km ! . That's quite a long trip in the back of a songthaeaw.

Oops mis read the OP .. was looking at a bus for majority of the ride .

Its a very long beach (about 10 kms long), so if you are only going for the day, you need a motorbike to get to places on the beach. If you are going to stay overnight then go straight to the hotel. 

I have a holiday house there in a very nice village with pool, fitness, park etc, but other than the weekends there are not many people around, and only a few small restaurants and bars in the evenings/night. It's relaxing but can get a bit boring, but Ban Phe is only 10-15 minutes away with a great market, seafood restaurants and a few bars for night time, but still Low key.

I have been internet browsing various properties in the area and wanted to take a look for myself. Estate agent ERA Rayong has a number of properties differing in price range, including properties on estates. I guess they have hefty monthly fees for maintenance . The area looks a nice place to chill, with songthaews that go in to Rayong city

If you go to ERA, then see Mr Patrick...Swedish guy, but knows the area very well. He sold one house for me a few years ago, with good results. Yes some village fees can be quite high. I pay 50k a year in the "Casa Seaside"  Village (but it is very nice village).

ERA office is in Ban Phe so probably better to stay there and they will take you around to various places you are interested in.

Yes it is a nice place to chill, I've been a few times, going there again soon, i think a boring place to live after a short while but for a break, great. I cycle there, about 80km.

One of it's downsides is the extremely long beach means its very spread out, you'll see derelict condo blocks and buildings

It may be a better place for a couple days break rather than full time living from various people commenting here and other sites. I’ll have to give it a look next time I’m there , thanks everyone
