Was working up until few months ago while I’m here in UK…then stopped…Jst wondering if it’s same as most of the Thai banks there clamping down on farang bank accounts??

The banks are clamping down on unverified accounts. Meaning that some accounts are getting flagged and locked until the account holder comes in to verify they are legit.

Mine did for a while too but maybe it’s the Thai eSIM that’s expired on my phone.

Had a standard email reply from SCB but they can’t do anything via email so I’ll have to visit the SCB branch when I’m back there soon to sort it out…prob get another eSIM receipt to show.

It's definitely the eSIM. Thai banking apps won't work without a working SIM/phone number.

Mine works on a long standing UK sim I have had for years but not registered with SCB bank  ,

Earlier this year I got a new mobile and I put both English and Thai Sims into the new smartphone.  A little later I tried to access the SCB app via my thai sim.  I couldn't access the account.  The app was asking me for my SCB account number and my passport,  The app accepted both but wouldnt let me go any further because it said the bank didnt have a photo of me.  Thats strange because SCB have photo copied my passport.  So I phoned SCB helpdesk from England and told them the problem.  The person I spoke to was very helpful and said they would do something to stop the app from needing a photo off me for 24 hours.  So I tried again and still failed to access my account.

So I will be in Pattaya later this month and will call into a branch of SCB with my passport and sort it out
